I finally got officially signed off at my workplace, so I'm a full staff. This comes with added responsibility and one of which is managing the shop alone.
Lone working in the shop is not exactly a difficult thing to do. After putting up the papers and some minor arrangements, there's not much to do.
It takes a bit more than 20 minutes to get everything in place for the start of business. On other days, I'll be responsible for closing the shop and the activities at the end of the day also take a little bit more than 10 minutes, if I move fast.
Since I'm still adjusting to the role, I'll be taking my time, to ensure I don't forget to do some important bits. One small error could easily cascade into a bigger problem, so it's best to take my time and do it right.
Starting now that I'm under the weather is far from ideal. I would have preferred to be in full health before getting fully signed off but it is what it is. For what it's worth, I feel better than yesterday but I also feel drowsy.
Good thing is that I'm not working tomorrow, so I'll have some time to rest. However, at some point this week, I'll also have to start enquiring about opportunities to make a bit more money.
I like my job and I have been assured of overtime but it is still not enough. Now that I've had time to myself, I think I'm ready to try my hands at some night shifts where I do two nights a week.
I'm also going to start my search for qualifications that I could use to get into better management roles. I can't afford it now but I'll just do the research to get the information. For now though, I manage the shop and make sure everything goes right.
Congratulations on your job, I wish you success in other job hunts, and quick recovery
