Let's Not Blame The Government…

_{If we can but prevent the government from wasting the labours of the people, under the pretence of taking care of them, they must become happy.}

The world is changing so fast and it is not stopping any time soon, I suppose. What we grew up with are different things that the Gen Z are growing up to face and also what the next generation will grow up to find.

But, there's one thing among others which I haven't seen take the road toward change and we all know the word deeply like we were the ones that thought of it in the first place.

Pretense is a dangerous word that we all edge on. The government has taken it as a liberty to use it on the citizens because they can and that is because it gives more than the wanted result which is a pity.

Before any election or most times during it, government officials that are running for any seat will come out and they will parade people who do not own material stuff and use the money to entice them. Most times, it is their words which can be viewed as the opposite of everything they say.

They pretend they are running for any governmental seat of their choice because of the people and they act well. Strange as it is, people continue falling for their pretense every time. It just seems the world is stagnant in that area.

Apart from the governments, let's take a look at ourselves. Many of us pretend to do something or like someone because of what they hold. We sometimes act like puppets to get what we want and it is just bad seeing the level at which people will go to achieve their aim.

I am never a big fan of pretending. I detest doing that. I do know I am not perfect but there's one thing I am sure I don't do and will never do and that is pretending to get people wrap around my fist like ants seeing sugar.

Surely, I can say I am fine or pretend to be fine when I am having a tough time in life but apart from that, I have never found myself in the space where I have to pretend to like people. The truth is I won't. I won't tolerate you and act like I care for you when I don't.

I believe I am among the rare humans whose facial expression and attitude toward someone show I am not a big fan of you. I will show it clearly instead of pretending I like you. I don't just see myself doing that. Not because I can't but because I will not. It is one way I have learned to live.

And, most times, I wish people can come out real to you instead of acting like they value you. I know it hurts knowing the person whom you thought had your best interest at heart does not even care if you live or die. And we can see these things happening in relationships today. Many have lost a lot due to pretense and at the end of the day, the level of it determines if the person will just wallow in pain or see suicide as an option.

I have seen and heard people going down the trail of suicide because the people they believed in were just with them because of what they wanted.

Also, people who engage in fraud use this technique to get their victim and it always works. That's one of the major ingredients Yahoo boys use to get their client to pay their dues. And I know some people who do this. They use that pitiful remark to scam people and enjoy taking from people who have less than them because those people have a good heart and they thought they were helping and not being scammed.

If there is one thing I can change in the world, that will be pretense and I would give it my all if I had my way. If I had the power to change this, it would start with letting people know that this person does not have your best interest in mind. If I had a superpower that could detect this and could use a compelling power or maybe an item to let them see their future with that person, it would be great.

I do believe the world will be a better place if this can happen and then we can view and analyze this change in the world. There's great harm in pretending you like people, want something better for them, and use them because they have a kind heart. It is wrong and saddening to see how some children act like they don't have things and watch their parents suffer. I used the term children because no sane adult should do this.

Let's not blame the government for pretending to do something because most of us fall into this too. And some of you will do worse when you attain any governmental seat. Instead, let that change start with us.
