The Most Forgotten People In Every School.

So, I was just thinking back to my school days this morning, and a lot of things came to my mind, things I can definitely write about. Then something popped up amidst it again, still school related. It's about those people we don't always remember in school, like they are the most forgotten or looked down on people. I wanted to wave it off and write about something else, but then I feel like that's me forgetting them again.

In school, we so much remember our teachers, both the good and the bad ones; we remember our colleagues, including those we barely talk to, but what do we say about our school cleaners and security guards, especially the school cleaners? They are usually the first to arrive at school. They sweep the classrooms and assembly halls, empty the bins, clean the whole school environment, wash the toilets, and all of that. Yet, some students walk past them and don't even tell them well done; most don't even stop to think that all these neat environments they are welcomed in every morning were handled by some set of people.

Even school authorities rarely remember them; they only call for them when they want to complain or when they see somewhere that's dirty. When it comes to giving staff things and all, they are hardly remembered, and when they are, they get the most meager of whatever they shared. And then we can't deny the impact of what they are doing; keeping everywhere clean makes us feel healthier and creates a good and clean atmosphere for learning.

We shouldn't forget that all this is done by some group of people. A smile, a greeting, or a thank you will go a long way to make them feel seen and appreciated. They work behind the scenes, accepted, but they deserve more. A school isn't built by just teachers and students; every worker in school contributes to its growth... The security guard, the cleaner, the teacher, the students, and even those in the cafeteria. And the least we can do is to acknowledge them.
