The Biggest Lessons Aren’t Written On The Board.

In school, I learned how to read, write, sole equations, state laws, and all of that, but one of the biggest lessons I've learned in life was out of the classroom. The biggest and most helpful thing I've learned in life was not written on the board for me or explained to me by a teacher/lecturer.

Life taught me, and as I will always say. It(life) is the greatest teacher. I had a time in my life when things didn't look as it ought to be. My plans went down the drain, my life was on a pause and I had no choice but to go through those seasons of life. It was so frustrating, most especially because I knew there was no easy or quick way out of it than to keep my hope alive and go through it.

Today, I can see vividly what those seasons of life taught me. It taught me patience, not the kind that I have to keep waiting or remaining stagnant at a point, nah, but the type that will keep going, improving and not giving up even when there's no obvious change or progress. Honestly, I never knew I was becoming stronger, kinder and a better human until I looked back and saw how far I've come and how much I've gone through.

Today when I'm facing a situation or challenge, I'd just remind myself of all those hard and difficult times I've had to pass through, how I didn't give up, and how I eventually and successfully go through it. Meaning, in whatever thing I face in life, I know it is a phase and it will surely pass.

I'm not downplaying education, not at all. If not for education, I wouldn't have been able to understand this much or even put it into writing now. I'm just saying life taught me more too, it taught me humility, gratitude, love, care, and what life really is all about. The best thing we learn and is most helpful to us and our journey is what life itself teaches us.
