Hunger Is A Teacher.

Well, I can very well remember a time in school when hunger really dealt with me. It was my first year in the higher institution. It wasn't an easy one for me, my foodstuffs finished and I was left with the only savior, garri. I began to drink garri morning, afternoon and night. Few days later, garri finished too.

I remember waking up to go to lecture one day and my tummy began to sing. I just brushed my teeth, drank water and prepared for lecture. I think I wa having about for lectures to attend on that day, I barely wait till the end of the first one before I went back home. Because how can I listen and understand with an empty stomach.

I got home that day and saw my neighbors eating out and smiling, I greeted them differently that day. I wished they would have invited me to eat, I'm not sure either I would have accepted to eat it though, but who knows. I know they they didn't invite me intentionally because they know I don't eat out or ever accepted to eat anyone's food. I cook my own food, and even if we will eat together, then I must cook or be a part of those cooking it. That is just me.

I entered my room and began doing different things. I counted the woods in the ceilings, counted the nails on each, looked around my room, counted the star shaped stuffs I stuck on the wall of my room, I ea just doing different things. It was even more worse because as at then, my phone was faulty too and there isn't anything to play with or to use to while away time. Along the line, I slept off, guess what, hunger woke me up again.

Well, that day passed by, it was on the evening of the second day that a friend of mine came by. She noticed I wasn't lively as I used to be and asked if I was fine and all of that, well I told her yes, but my expression and frail body said otherwise. She knew anytime she come around she will definitely meet me cooking, just finish cooking or about to cook. But it was different. She checked my paint buckets and saw everything was empty.

To cut the long story short, she was the one who helped me with little foodstuffs, filled my gas and bought me item 7 that evening to eat as she insisted that I'm too weak to cook.

I'm grateful for her. I can't help but smile at the memory now. Hunger can humble somebody o. If you haven't experienced it, you will not be able to relate, but if you have you will agree with me that hunger can be a teacher too, it will teach you to not waste food.

Well, I do not want to ever experience such again in my life.
