Adulthood: Carrying Everything While Acting Like Nothing’s Wrong.

Well, let me say, just like every other person, while growing up, I felt it would be way better. Like, I would have my own freedom and be free to do anything, go anywhere, make my own decisions, and all of that. I don't know if it will be too early to add this, but then I'd feel the need to earn my own money too because I'd feel every other person who's broke, not helping and all, isn't serious with their life.

I never knew that life wasn't a bed of roses. Likewise, I never knew that the older you grow, the heavier the weight and responsibility become. That is what adulthood is like. You're literally carrying a lot on your head, and no one can see it. Absolutely no one... They can only imagine and assume, but they won't fully know, see, and understand how much you're carrying already.

There's bills to sort, there are family to cater for, there's plans for the future, there's you and your personal problems and all of that, yet you're expected to carry and do it all, yet you're not expected to show that the weight is weighing you down, yet you're expected to stand tall and face each and everything that comes your way.

Another thing about adulthood is that there's no manual for it. You only see, read, and hear stories of those who have gone before you, and you're expected to learn from them. Another thing about life and adulthood is that our ways cannot always be the same; the fact that they walked a path and it worked for them doesn't mean it will work for you too. You can't help but find yourself making mistakes, failing, crying, worrying, and all of that, yet you need to keep moving forward because life won't pause for you.

And to be honest, there are times I miss being younger. Times when I have little to no worries at all. But then, this is life; you can't help it; you will definitely grow to be an adult. And then, you have to learn to carry responsibilities like the adult that you are.

One thing about being an adult is just that you have to pretend that you have it all under control while you're still trying to figure it out.
