When I just started out on hive I was always having writer's block. It's something that has happened to every successful writer who overcame it. I remember when I started out on hive, I thought I could write, I thought five hundred words was easy, I thought three hundred words was a work in the park, but when I picked up my phone to write, it was a different experience. After writing everything I knew, I knew I had not even scrapped the surface because everything I knew was not up to 100 words. Imagine targeting 500 and when you think you are done you discover it isn't even up to 100. My frustration and disappointment was evident in my face as the zeal to write just dies.

The thought of what to write sometimes is overwhelming, but when I finally cracked it, it became easy. I got to understand that writer's block is not your heart or brain saying you should not write, it's just a state where your mind is evolving and it sometimes enters into hibernation. Those who come out always have the best piece, but those who give up always have an excuse. When I used to have writer's block I would stay on my phone with my notepad open for hours writing little by little until I got the number of words I wanted to write. Sometimes the words don't come out well, sometimes it does, but I use it anyway.
Sometimes what I end up writing nonsense, but I still push on. Two years ago I decided that I was going to write everyday, whether I knew what to write or not. Sometimes I don't even feel like writing, sometimes writing felt like I was lifting weights, but what I did not know was that I was training my mind and when I trained my mind to a point, I broke the block. I have not had writers block in almost two years because I have now cultivated the habit of writing everyday and it has helped train my mind to always write no matter what.
