A TIME TO FORGET

If there is one thing I hate most, it is being in any uncomfortable or embarrassing situation. This is why I try as much as possible to avoid being in certain situations as much as possible. In fact I would rather walk away before it starts getting messy so that I don’t have to face the embarrassment. I hate getting into it and when I find myself anywhere close to it, I do everything to leave. It is not out of pride, but because I am one to easily get shy and run away. My definition of embarrassment as an introvert is very delicate and that is one of the many reasons people do not see me around outside a lot of the time.

I am not one to go looking for trouble, and if the trouble comes, I try to avoid it, and if it refuses to be avoided, well you can no longer blame me for my next reaction, so I try as much as possible not to even be in such a situation. But then there are some you won’t even see coming, and those are the ones that hit the most, especially when it comes from those you call friends. They might see it as nothing or have a perfectly great explanation for it, but an embarrassing situation is an embarrassing situation regardless.

One time I saw a friend on the road and we were exchange pleasantries, I hadn’t seen her in a while and thought to get her number so we could stay in touch, but suddenly she got up and said she was coming, only to book a taxi and leave immediately even with her bag and stuffs where it was. It was clear she was avoiding me, but I would rather she had told me she doesn’t want to talk to me instead of pulling up such an act. I was so embarrassed feeling the gazes of everyone on me and I just decided to leave there. I had ways of getting to her to seek an explanation, but I do not want another embarrassing moment with her for any reason.
