THIS WEEK'S PROMPT

Title: Unimaginably Real.

There are times we experience things that are too real to believe. We are talking about moments that feel unbelievable but actually happened. We believe we all had stories of such moments, moments that if it was somebody else that told us, we wouldn't believe it.

So, tell us about a moment that left you shocked, a moment when something crazy/unbelievable happened, something too real to believe. It might be at school, in your hostel, while reading, cooking, or doing anything. Something that you personally experienced and which you haven't shared with anyone because they might not believe you if you do, or you might have shared it, but people doubt it.

Here's a snapshot from my life.

It was my fourth year in the higher institution, but we were having light issues, so I went to read and charge in school. On getting to the school compound, I found out that most of the classes were filled with students who had come to charge as well. I didn't want to stay amidst the crowd. So, I began looking for a free or empty classroom to use. Not long after, I found one upstairs, and it was empty. It was one of the just-completed classrooms. So, I climbed the stairs to the last floor and entered one of the classes. I plugged in my phone and began to read. I was glad there was no disturbance at all. When I was done, I packed up and reached out to the door, but it wouldn't open. I tried all I could; it didn't open. I shouted, banged the door and all, but still, nothing. Not only that, but I went to the window side too; it refused to open. At that time I panicked. I looked through the window and couldn't even find a soul passing by. I shouted, still nobody. I dropped my bag and sat down, with my hands on my head, thinking if I would have to break one of the windows, but will I jump? I was still lost in thought when I suddenly heard the thunder roar, and immediately the door that was locked flung open. I just picked up my bag and ran out. When I told my friends and hostel mates about it, they didn't believe me. It was really a scary and unbelievable moment.
