Living The Time Race

It doesn't take much for people to find a topic of argument these days, there's a lot to talk about especially online. From music, politics, the weather and sports.

Scrolling through my Instagram feed, I saw a post about Inter Miami not needing Lionel Messi to win their last match and without fail, the comment section was filled with the age old Messi-Ronaldo banter with both sides arguing for and against each other.

There was a time Pele was the most talked about, there was also a time when Maradona was on everyone's lips.
Of course people still talk about them, but you really can't compare it with the Messi-Ronaldo debate today.

It's happening again and the attention is slowly shifting to the next generation like Haaland and Mbappe. The unifying factor in all these scenarios is time.

One thing I've realized about time is that it's a progression, it doesn't matter what you did or didn't do, nothing will stop that progression.
I feel like whenever we want to describe our lives, time is something that can help us do that well.

Life is like a race across time, your life probably started at 08:00hrs and you enjoyed life, reached your peak and it all ended at 09:00hrs.
As you're ending your race, someone else's race is equally just starting. Time will wait for no one.

Pele and Maradona reign was a legendary era of football, it's Messi and Ronaldo right now, tomorrow it'll be someone else. It doesn't matter anymore what Pele did or didn't do, right now he's no longer in a position to care anymore.

Life is what we make of it and always worrying about everything won't actually solve anything. If you stop and really think about the fact that the time you've got left is slowly ticking away, you'll realize it's worth more to simply enjoy the limited time we've all got.

Time is unlimited, but your time is limited, enjoy life while you've still got the time.

As we say in the US "don't sweat the small stuff." When I think as you just did, almost everything that folks worry about daily qualifies as small stuff.

The only reason I know anything about Pele is because my brother named his dog Pele back in the day.

True, we mostly sweat the small stuff

Hi @hazmat it's nice to meet you through this interaction. Time in its polysemous meaning can mean many things, everything or nothing. Even some of more daring lucubrations, express that it does not exist, that it is a utopia in its genesis. Regardless of this, we must always try to make sure that it is in our favor and not against us, that is to say, that it contributes to our benefit and well-being, generating happiness in our existential path.
Until another time when a commentary will unite us :)
