Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

Today is one of those days when I am kind of struggling to put my feelings into words, but I'll try. Not that I feel bad or good either, just that I had a rather unconventional day. Usually, my weekend are spent overworking myself tiredlessly with putting finishing touches to clients dresses which are set for delivery, but after being invited by my sister-in-law to her place of work to catch up on each other as it has been a long while we last saw each other, she also mentioned about having some business deals for me, so I had no choice than to fasttrack all my orders for the week so I don't disapont my clients and also not turn down my sister in law invites either. dd

Being an introvert, one of the most difficult tasks I struggle with is leaving the comfort of my home, I so much enjoy my personal space that I tend to overthink why I should step out of my home. I have several times turned down friends' invitations to parties, which most people view as fun, even family gatherings. This morning wasn't any different, even though I had promised my sis to show up, I faced that struggle but eventually had to step out so as not to make her feel disappointed.

She is a nice person, so it didn't feel good that I had turned her down on several occasions in the past; still, she doesn't give up on checking on me and the entire family. She has been strongly persistent, I must commend her for that, so yeah, going out can be a walk in the park for some, and it can also feel like solving a complex problem for some like us, which side do you belong to? I would love to hear how you guys feel about leaving your comfort zone.

Did I enjoy my outing today? I did, even though I was drenched by rain a few minutes after stepping out, which almost made me feel bad for taking the step out, but after a while it did feel good, especially after receiving a warm hug from my sister-in-law, did I mention, she also served me a delicious plate noodles and egg, and a coffee on the side. We gisted, it felt good, like I actually needed to do this more often. The deal was sealed successfully.

Another funny encounter was on my way back, seeing my country people vent their frustration on others for minor things, and others having a good life and forgetting their worries for a while, watching these dramatic citizens of Nigeria display made me not miss leaving home today.

Sometimes, these little challenges are exactly what I need to remind myself that there's a world beyond my comfort zone, and it's worth exploring every once in a while. It's funny how life works out, isn't it? Sometimes, it's the unexpected invitations and challenges that end up being the most rewarding. I'm glad I took the leap and visited my sister-in-law. Who knows what other opportunities might come my way? How about you? Have you ever had to push past your comfort zone for something that ended up being worthwhile?

Just like you, I also do not like leaving my comfort zone, but I do not regret the few times I did. It is good to go out once in a while but we should not fall in love with it cos outside is expensive. xd

I'm really not an introvert like you, but I also don't like going out. I only do that once in awhile. I'm happy you enjoyed yourself. Thanks for sharing.
