It could have been fatal

Negligence and carelessness has always been the cause of most fatal incidents we either see, hear of or encounter. It bleeds my heart when I encounter situations where people endanger their lives and even that of their loved ones because of being careless or forgetting to do the necessary things first.

While distributing invitations to a special event with my friends, we met a woman and her children with two of her customers she was attending on their hair. We met them at a compound close to their house. Few minutes to our arrival, a neighbor of hers ran towards us saying that there are smoke coming out from her apartment. We rushed to know the cause of the smoke, only to discover that the pot of rice she was cooking had burned and was about to burn down the building if the neighbor didn't notice in time. She forgot she sent her 12 years old daughter to cook some rice for lunch and the daughter also forgot she was cooking. The whole rooms was covered with smoke.

To everyone's greatest surprise, one of her twin daughter was inside heavily sleeping. I felt really bad at this point, I thought to myself "what will have happened if the neighbor didn't noticed the smoke?". it would have been fatal. The little girl was looking so weak, she might have inhaled alot of smoke. Tears almost dropped from my eyes while I was thinking and imagining what could have happened. Thank God it didn't result to a fire outbreak.

After witnessing this incident, I resolved to be extra careful with the things I do especially on stuffs that can endanger lives. Take things one at a time, or if it's necessary to do two things at a time, I will try to fix my mind on both never to neglect anyone. This I learnt from the incident, hope you learnt something too.

We need to be careful in everything we are doing even in situation that seems simple, because carelessness can lead to loss of life,I wonder what could have happened if her neighbour was not vigilant

Thank God for the neighbor that noticed the smoke. Sending a 12yr old to cook without supervision is totally wrong.
Parents should be careful!
