After complaining that his solar panels were no longer performing effectively—and that some had even stopped working—my friend was ready to discard them. Discard them? I asked. That statement didn’t sit well with me. I told him we would come and check them out.

As early as 6 a.m. today, my boss called, Nsigo, let's go check out the panels. I quickly tidied up my room, rushed out, and boarded a tricycle to his house. Here are the panels, check them out, he said.

So, we got to work, and to our amazement, we fixed the panels, and they started working perfectly again.

Steps We Took to Fix the Solar Panels || Medidas que tomamos para reparar los paneles solares

1 . We removed the panels from the stand and placed them on the floor.

2 . We tested the panels using a multimeter to check if they were still generating voltage. (Some were not.)

3 . We opened the junction box at the back of the panels to verify if the bypass diodes were still working. (We discovered that some diodes were faulty, and some cables were burnt.)

4 . We bought new diodes and cables, replaced the damaged ones, and ran another test using the multimeter.

1 . Retiramos los paneles del soporte y los colocamos en el suelo.

2 . Probamos los paneles con un multímetro para comprobar si seguían generando tensión. (Algunos no lo hacían).

3 . Abrimos la caja de conexiones de la parte posterior de los paneles para comprobar si los diodos de derivación seguían funcionando. (Descubrimos que algunos diodos estaban defectuosos y que algunos cables estaban quemados).

4 . Compramos diodos y cables nuevos, sustituimos los dañados y realizamos otra prueba con el multímetro.
