Family, Fun, and Tradition: Highlights from Maria's Wedding

The year hasn't had many fun moments, and a day I looked forward to till the sisters wedding that was held a few weeks ago. It was quite an intriguing experience to not just celebrate with my sister and her husband, who were getting married, but also an opportunity to catch up with families and friends whom we've not met in a long time. Having occasions to celebrate is always an avenue for a reunion, and this particular one didn't disappoint.

So my sister Maria's wedding date has been picked since January of this year, and everyone of us is planning towards making sure everything is in place and that the occasion goes as planned. It's always not a walk in the park when it comes to hosting a wedding ceremony, both for the groom and bride family and especially here in this part of the world, where families tend to carry more of the expensive wedding than the couples themselves.

So we as a family had to host a meeting and conclude on what would be contributed by each one of us, and gladly everything went as planned and the day arrived. It was a wonderful experience, and I did enjoy myself right from the moment I arrived home for the wedding a day before the wedding.

I had met loads of family members I haven't seen in over 5 years and above, and it's good to see everyone of them and catch up on old times and as well reminisce about life generally. We also work together to make sure everything is in order, from the event center to food and several others, to mention but a few. One of the standout moments of the event for me was seeing my sister's special day go well.

Everyone was happy and well entertained, and we had loads of fun: eating, dating, and as well feeding our sees with the lovely sights. Not forgetting, I also learned something during the course of the traditional wedding. I've always taken notes of some of the questions grooms are asked during such moments, and learning another one this time around gladdens my heart and would come in handy for me or my friends who'll be getting married and might encounter such.

Although most of those questions are just asked and are fun, and failing doesn't mean the wedding will be called off, but then it's good to leave a good impression in the sight of one's in-law and show that you're knowledgeable about your spouse, her family, and where they're from; these are more like an act of showing that I value your daughter and honor everyone that made her the person she's in character and beauty.

Overall everything was fun. I even had loads of time to spear after the wedding ceremony to play and discuss with my niece and nephew, who were super excited to see me and were as always looking forward to what I've got them as a gift. It was also enjoyable to see my uncles, aunts, and siblings too, and we can't help but joke on who's wedding would be next so we can all once again gather to celebrate with the person.

Mistakes I found
‘Everyone was happy and well entertained, and we had loads of fun: eating, dating, and as well feeding our sees with the lovely sights. ‘
Dating??? It happens in family marriages? Feeding our eyes you meant I suppose.

‘And it’s time to spare’ not ‘spear’
Ok… good you enjoyed and the function went well… I wish all the best for your system and may your relationship be intact…brother sister, and brother – bro-in law…congrats!
