Hello hivers on this community!
Yesterday, August 17, 2025, my husband and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. Every anniversary feels special, but this one gave me a chance to look back our wedding day six years ago and reflect on how far we have come as husband and wife.
I still remember that day so clearly- August 17, 2019, the day we said ‘I do.” It was not a grand wedding, but it was solemn, meaningful and full of love. The most important thing for me was not the size of the event, but the people who were there and the love we shared.
Our wedding mass was officiated by Father David, and it was such a blessing to have him guide us through holy moment. Our mass venue is in our backyard only, but it was filled with sincerity and closest friends.
One of the most challenging parts of our wedding was that we did not have a wedding coordinator. We design and organized everything ourselves, with the help of our family and friends. It was exhausting and stressful at times, but it also made the day more meaningful. Every detail, every decoration, and every set up reflected the love and effort of the people closest to us.
I also carefully chose my bridesmaids, who were truly close to me and part of my life’s journey. They were not just there for pictures; they were there because they know my heart and my story. They are the one who helped me during preparation like making corsage, invitation and decoration.
And of course, our supportive parents stood proudly by our side. Their love and sacrifices made it possible for us to reach that day, and even now, six years later, we are forever grateful for them. Even we don’t want to stress them financially, they are the one who extend help to make us day successful.
After our wedding, life as a couple was not easy. Marriage is not just about the wedding day, it is about the everyday life that comes after in six years, we have gone through many trials, challenges and tests of faith. There were days of laughter and joy but also days of tears and misunderstandings. Yet despite it all, we chose to hold on to each other.
Marriage is not a fairy tale. It is not always about romance, flowers or happy days. Marriage is real, it is about understanding, patience, forgiveness and sacrifice. It is about holding your partner’s hand even when life gets heavy, and choosing to stay even when it is easier to walk away.

Yesterday, on our anniversary, we did not celebrate with a big party or expensive dinner. Instead, we chose a simple celebration, we went to church together, my husband and my child and I.
For me, that was the perfect way to mark six years of marriage: offering thanks to God for keeping us together and praying for more years of love and togetherness.
