Small joys make our life more meaningful by grounding us in the present, fostering gratitude, and creating a rich tapestry of positive memories beyond big achievements, turning ordinary moments into sources of lasting contentment and fulfillment and this simple joy on the eve of New Year mattered a lot for her. Every year she wears a new Saree on the eve of New Year and even though her surgery was scheduled on the New Year, for a moment she wished to wear a new Saree before going to OT.

As they started preparing her for the OT, I waked up the boy and told him to bring a New Saree from home and stopped the OT staffs, requesting them to fulfill her wish first - the surgery can wait for some time. The previous night, she had allowed me to go and join the Zero night party for some time and we all took Dad as well, so that he does not feel alone. I will share the pics, once I get back from Hospital. So this was my turn to give her these little happiness before she goes under the knife - it mattered a lot for her, boosting her positivity. As such she is very brave, truly being a living inspiration for me, but at this age, these little things counts a lot.

No one will happily go for a surgery but she was telling me, how happy she was to fulfill her wish, because it could also be the last - No way Mom, we are doing all this to think positive, you are coming back safe, you still have lot to do and experience - to see your grand children's marriage or even great grand children.

So finally she was ready for the special memoir of her life - going under the knife on a New Year for a new beginning - you will feel much better after the surgery.

They called me after the surgery and told everything went well even though it was little complicated because of the Sepsis and high infection she had developed. It was right decision to bring her in time and do the surgery else it could have been life threatening. They even showed me the Gall Bladder with stones, removed and it was really in very bad condition. I took few pictures to show her and not posting here, as it may not be safe for everyone to see that.

It has been more than 24 hours and she is doing much better now. Hopefully they will start feeding her tomorrow and discharge her by Monday. This new year and these pics will be a special memoir for all of us - 2026 will be remembered well. It was not the end of year, rather a reset, lining ourselves for the next one - to a new beginning with all positive energies and God's grace.
Thank you everyone for your kind words and prayers - those blessings matter a lot in our life.

Such a beautiful moment. Itβs amazing how small joys, like a new saree, can brighten even the toughest days.Wishing her a smooth recovery and lots of happy memories.
When I saw the title I presumed you meant your good lady has a new saree every new year, not your mum hehe!
That was a good thing you got your mum into hospital and have that surgery.
Wishing you all a very very Happy New Year!

welcome sir.
I remember when my Indian friend gifted me with a saree I loved it but I dint use it often because in our country can look weird and also because it's not easy for me wear it by the way I love this saree too, wonderful colours π
Hopefully she fully recovers. That sounded like a close call, good decision to bring her to the hospital.
Yes, it was a timely decision.
Feliz aΓ±o mis mejores deSeos , que mejore la Sra
With God's blessing and that of his dear friends, your dear mother will recover perfectly from that operation, so take good care of her so that you all live many more years together.
That really looks so beautiful on her if you will ask me
It's always nice to treat our parents, especially when they're about to have surgery, even if it's just a small thing like getting them a new sari to ring in the New Year. As she says, it's a fresh start, a chance to begin again with the best wishes. Now we need to take good care of her so she can successfully complete her recovery and return to her usual daily activities.
I pray to Maheshwar that he gets well soon. But you did a great job because they feel good when their small dreams come true, it gives them hope and helps them move forward.Always keep these memories safe and save them in one of your profiles because some memories always remind you of us throughout your life. And in this way always remain happy and see life with beautiful eyes.
