Spending quality time with family has been always the highest priority for me, because I know, these are the moments that will not only cherish our later part of life, but also remind these kids these great times that we spent together, when they are grown up. And since we are going through a phase when kid's education is high priority, we try to make small trips nearby inside our state, which spans over 2-4 days. May be once these kids are grown up, we will have more frequent trips as everyone in my family loves to travel. Travel not only de-congests ourselves from the busy schedule but going to scenic places refresh us with all positive energies and enables us to do more work. The last time we visited outside was to Kashmir which was two years back after my son's 10th board. During these visits, I always make sure to collect lot of photos as those memoirs are valuable than anything else, I am yet to post all of them. This particular photo is from our recent trip to Satapada after Dad's hospitalization and I must say that this trip brought me back to normal state, after getting too much stressed during the ten day hospital stay.
And then apart from my own family, I also take Mom on religious trips almost every year, to motivate her for a positive living. Having a goal of visiting one place every year sets some target for us, and given that her movement is getting restricted day by day ( due to age factors), I plan more relaxed and focused trip for her, with me accompanying her everywhere and making sure she avails best of the facilities and personal care. After all, the money that we earn is worth spending for our living first, especially for our parents who gave up all their comfort and went through lot of hardship to make us what we are today. Unfortunately Dad has not been very interested to travel at all, as he traveled lot of places alone during his college time. So we leave Dad at my home, with my family taking care of him, providing peace of mind during our travel and I must say, it's a great support as a family. When Dad was fit, I took both Mom and Dad to many places in the Southern part of India, as I was staying in Bangalore during that time. May be I will post about them someday, back then I had an Olympus camera and I have a big treasure of their memoirs from those places, which Mom loves to see often.
Having a mindset to travel to places, organizing the trip in a planned way is my preferred approach always, as I don't like surprises. Hopefully, we will have more frequent trips after my daughter's board is over - until then small trips for my immediate family and religious trips for Mom has been set as a tradition since last few years.

You're the best Dad and son. I'm sure your kids will recall all these travel memories of you when they are silver bloggers themselves.
My wife and I do quite a bit of traveling through the summer with our travel trailer. We tend to do a three or so nights at a time and we got various places in our state. I think this year we might venture across borders into a neighboring state.
Yes, I have seen your posts and I must say, you have a great set up, here we don't have that kind of trend to have a trailer though. I plan to buy a bigger car and have some set up in the backside, and do more travel, starting next year.
That sounds like it will be a lot of fun for you! I bet there are some amazing and beautiful areas of your country to explore!
It is good to have a tradition like this. We try to travel at least three times a year out of state and at least once a month in our state.
That's nice, we go out for movies or a dinner at best in a month, and I would love to travel more frequently like yours, may be starting next year.
Well some of the travel is work related, but we make it into a family trips and our local travel is just an hour away or so...
Going to trips especially in this festive period with family members is so priceless
This is so thoughtful of you
It's good to have trip traditions, we also have them, in summer or sometimes in the year with the train... Lot of photos to remember!
That is the best tradition you should keep for a long time, and that is sharing with the whole family.
Is a nice thing to do spending quality time with your family and it can never be taken for granted
Nothing in this world is better than sharing quality time with our family. Life is very short, so we must cherish every moment together, and if it involves travel, even better for everyone. It's also a tradition that I hope their children can continue when they have their own families.
That sounds good. A trip with family is something to treasure.
I do understand your dad. Probably, part of it is aging.
Yes, that's correct.
