Folklore is a very beautiful thing that talks about stories, people's beliefs, their kind of song and also proverbs which portrays their tradition. It is also passed from one generation to another by words of mouth. Most times is it told to the children who in turn tell to their own children in the future. It is very difficult to know the genesis of a folklore because is never written down by anyone.

For this week topic that says - folklore I will be telling a short story and also sing a song that goes with the story.

This is a story about an orphan who lost her mother when she was still very small. Her step mother was the wicked type and she made sure that the little girl never gets anything from her. There is this day that her step mother bought Star Apple fruit from the market and she took everything with her children and refused to give to the orphan. After eating the seed was thrown away and the orphan picked the seed and planted beside their house. She started singing a song to the African star apple so that it will grow for her to take some. As soon as she sang the song the African star apple started growing and she picked some of it's fruits to eat. Whenever her step mother comes to the African star apple tree to plug sone fruit and the orphan starts to sing her song to the tree it will grow very tall that her step mother can't come down from it because of her wickedness.

The story and song made us understand that it is very bad to maltreat someone who is poor or don't have someone to speak for them.
