Season Of Fruits And Flowers, My Favorite Season ||| Hive Naija Weekly Prompt

Greetings, my Naija and hivers pals🥰 read along while I show you what I love about this season. In response to this week's Hive Naija weekly prompt if you have not made an entry yet you can still join in the fun.

A week ago we went hunting for mangos at the back of Hubby's working place. This is what I love about this season. Beautiful flowers, and lots of fruits to nourish me with.

We were lucky as their school was still on holiday. So we saw a lot of mangoes. If they were to be in a section we might not have even visited that place in the first place. And if we did, we might not have found this much.

The nylon we went with almost got full. If we are to buy all this from the local market here we will be talking about a thousand naira.

Behind their office was this carpet of grasses, it is not all green yet but the little greens showing is a sign of the few spots of rain we have this year.

On the other side of the carpet grass, the coconut plant has come alive. Some weeks back it was all dried leaves.

Then this flamboyant flower was very inviting and I couldn't resist taking a shot at it.

In Kaduna state, part of Nigeria, where I currently reside, during this time of the year before heavy rain starts falling by June. Fruits and vegetables are plentiful and cheaper in our local market. And flowers are blossoming when you walk around.

I love the beauty and freshness that accompanies this season. Though the weather is a bit hot but is still one of my best times of the year.

There is an afforestation going on just opposite the road of their office. It is a welcome development from the government and I am looking forward to how beautiful this place will look shortly.

The land above used to be a plain desert in the past. And from what I heard, this site is just the beginning of the project as there is a large vast desert around the premises that need trees to be planted.

Talking fruits in this season, we met their security officer and I found his activity very interesting.

What he is engaged in is washing locust beans. I took his pictures with his permission of course. He told us he got it around the school premises. There are a lot of the locust beans trees where we got the mangoes from and they have a lot of fruit on them.

Here are the beans after washing them, he told us he was gonna take it home to the wife so she could use it for the family food.

I nearly envy him hahaha, I love locust beans a lot, apart from nutritional value, it adds a rich taste to meals. Though preparing it from scratch like he is doing involves a lot of stress so I usually buy from the locals. Besides, it is not always you walk into a bush that has a locust bean tree.

Seeing the man above it brings back memories of my mom doing it when I was still in my village. Fun and good old days hehe.
