The irony that comes with football, and the sense of humour that comes with not knowing what's going to happen at the end of a match, is one thing I truly enjoy about watching the game. At the start, you are looking forward to your lead striker or your franchise player to be the one who scores the goal that wins the match, and then ither then happens. Instead, it is the ball rubbing off the skin of a player from the opposing side, thereby causing an own goal that gets your team the win of the match. Well, that was the fate of my team over the weekend, in the match against Wolverhampton FC.

From the start of the match, there was no doubt that the Wolves were also coming for the jugular. They wanted to win the match. Come on, who would not want to get a win against the best team in the league, currently in good form despite our battles with injuries? From the way they played, it was a fight for Arsenal. Then, on the other hand, Arsenal kept battling with a product of good possession, but no clear finish. The possession of the game was in our custody, but we simply could not put a ball in the net. That even made my fear more glaring. I hope this will not be a game of good possession but no goal. We all know how that ends. It is a draw. If one team likes to hold the ball all through the game, but as long as they do not score a goal, they only get 1 point when it ends nil scoreline, or worse, the other team scores a dying-minute goal, like what Aston Villa did to us in our last match.
After several pressing attempts from Arsenal to take the lead in the game, finally one came through chaos and atruggle for the ball. A ball splash with the assistance of a Wolves defender got the ball into the post in our favour. I could say for sure with some level of certainty as an Arsenal fan that there was some sign of relief in the stadium, both the players and the fans watching the game. Do not ask me how, but it is a fan thing, and we all share that in common.

We won thatβs all that matters!
Even with that Wolves did not hold back; they still came at us with everything they had, and they actually got something. They got a goal as well in the gam,e and that led the likes of Saka and Odeegard to demand more for the ball. All attention was on the attempt to get another goal so we could get the 3 points. Thankfully, we got it, but it is funny that it was another own goal again from the opposing team. You can say the defenders of Wolveshampton FC were Arsenal fans this weekend.
