Women cricket has gained a lot of attention and recognition over the past few years. Lot's have changed and the support for indian women's cricket has exploded 10 fold.

Women's premier league started in 2023 in India. This is the fourth year of the tournament.

The tournament for the fourth year feature five teams. The tournament will be played from 9 January to 5 February 2026.

Before the tournament a mega auction was organised to buy internaational and indian players.

Locations

This year, the matches are played in mumbai (DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai) and Vadodara (Baroda Cricket Association Stadium)

• Delhi Capitals Women
• Gujarat Giants Women
• Mumbai Indians Women
• Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women
• UP Warriorz Women

Previous Winners:

Mumbai Indians Women have won the first and the third tournament,i.e., 2023 and 2025
Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women won the second tournament, i.e., 2024

Current Points Table

League Matches:

Only three more league matches are left to be played. The table is still wide open.

3 teams are playing for the second and third spot.

• Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women are on the top of the table, but haven't secured the spot in the finals.
  Today's win, will cement their place in the finals.
• Gujarat Giants Women is second with eignt points and they play against Mumbai Indians Women currently on 6 points.
• Delhi Capitals Women is also on 6 points and they play UP Warriorz Women.
• Though, UP Warriorz Women has only 4 points, winning their remaining 2 matches with good net run-rate can put them in top 3.
  But, it also depends on remaining match result.

Eliminator & Finals

• The 2nd and the 3rd team on the table will play the eliminator.
  The winner goes to the final.
  The eliminator will be played on 3rd Feb 2026 in Baroda
• The top team on the table, goes directly into the finals.
  The winner of the eliminator will qualify for the finals.
  The finals will be played on 5th Feb 2026 in Vadodara.

Fans

WPL fan base has grown over the years. On the top, India Women's winning the ICC ODI World Cup in 2025 has added more spark and glamour to women's cricket.
