There was premium drama straight from the oven of the premier league, with clubs having a battle clash, some being beaten and others claiming victory. How did your team fare this week? This is why we love the premier league, The drama, the twists and turns.
Flashback To Premier League Results for Saturday
The Saturday weekend saw a total of eight premier league games beginning with
Everton vs Liverpool
After coming from a spectacular one-goal down victory against Newcastle United, Liverpool was all pumped and excited moving into the match against Merseyside Blues but to the fullest of their surprise, they were held to a toothless draw. This made it another week in which Salah failed to perform as he has always done in the past. Some fans maybe say it is due to the high contract he has signed with Liverpool, while others may conclude that it is the unavailability of Mane in Liverpool side, that and more, no one can tell yet.
The next fixture, Brentford vs Leeds United saw more theatrics on the field with goals flowing around from both teams like candies during Halloween. This match saw goals from the likes of Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeum, and Yoane Wissa, giving the game an end score of 5-2.
While on the leaderboard of goalscorers bringing in points, one name who has come into the limelight due to his recent performance is Ivan Toney [FWD] with a fantasy net worth of £7.2m. In his recent outing for his club, Brentford, he brought in a total of 17 haul points due to the club's 5-2 win against Leeds, in which he scored a hat trick.
Chelsea vs West Ham was another match that kept fans glued to their seats with high expectations for a win for their team. The match began with the first half ending without a goal from either side but filled with two yellow cards given to Marc Cucurella and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Then the second half was where the magic began to happen. The coaches of both teams began to bring in their big guns to secure their win or at least go home with a draw. But as good play will have it, the goals began to come in. Started with West Ham opening the net through a corner and a goal scored by Antonio. But Chelsea would not rest until they changed the play to their favor which they did after the recent substitute, Ben Chilwell scored to dynamic equalizer to keep the game open for both sides. Afterward, Kai Havertz scored the winning goal. Although West Ham gave their best to end the match in a draw through a late-minute equalizer by Cornet, as luck would have it for Chelsea, the goal was canceled by VAR due to a foul committed on the keeper.
In the area of wingback play, Ben Chilwell has reminded fantasy managers that he is still a prospect worthy enough to bring in good points for his owners. Despite his failure to begin the season's first match in game week 1 due to fitness issues, his ownership amongst fantasy players dropped to three percent. But now, with his equalizer against West Ham, I am sure this should increase his ownership stake in upcoming fixtures. More so, he is a good player with a reasonable price of £5.8m.
The day wasn't over until Newcastle vs Crystal Palace had played. The game ended in a 0-0 draw with both teams giving their best attempt to secure a 3-point in their favor. The players were on top of their game but the man of the day was Newcastle's goalkeeper with 9 successful saves, giving him a performance rating of 9.0 and he wasn't the only one contributing to the team, Kieran Tripper was another player who gave his best in trying to get the win for his team. Although Newcastle went home with a draw, Kieran Tripper was awarded the man of the match for his effort.
On the map of Fantasy Premier League, Nick Pope and Kieran Trippier have become the recent attraction of the early beginning of the season due to their three clean sheets so far. Nick Pope, who happens to be the goalkeeper for the Premier League Club Newcastle United with a fantasy net worth of £5.1m. The goalkeeper has a total of nine saves, three max bonus points, and a 12-point haul at home against Crystal Palace. In addition, in the premier league, the Newcastle goalkeeper has gained 36 fantasy points since the beginning of the season, making it the most any goalkeeper or defender has gotten so far in the 2022/23 season. This performance coupled with his affordable price has made him the new hot spec in the eyes of fantasy premier league managers. More so, just to add to Pope's track record, he has had an impressive number of three clean sheets, eight save points, and six bonus points in only six matches.
Another Newcastle player on the radar of fantasy players is Kieran Tripper with a fantasy net-worth of £5.2m, he has missed only two matches so far this season but his comeback with a freekick goal against the last season's premier league winner, Manchester City in game week 3 would be remembered for a while.
Next for the day was Nottingham Forest vs AFC Bournemouth, a match which ended with a total of 5 goals in favor of Bournemouth. These goals scored by both teams were gotten from the scoring abilities of Cheikhou Kouyate, Brennan Johnson, Philip Billing, Dominic Solanke, and Jaidon Anthony.
Another top striker to look out for in upcoming matches is AFC Bournemouth's lead striker, Dominic Solanke, with a net worth of £5.7m. By analysts, he can be a good return on investment in upcoming match fixtures for AFC Bournemouth. The striker has even begun to do so, starting with his goal and assist in the AFC Bournemouth's victory against Nottingham Forrest.
Also on this day, Tottenham took on Fulham which ended with a score of 2-1. The first goal came from Hojberg through an assist from Richarlison, giving Tottenham the early lead. But this lead wasn't enough, so they had to top it up with another from Harry Kane until Fulham was finally able to get a ball in the net. Thus, ending the match in a win for Hotspur.
The penultimate match for the day was the match between Wolverhampton and Southampton, which ended in a 1-0 scoreline, thereby giving wolves the 3 points for the win. The winning and only goal came from Daniel Podence through an assist from M. Nunes.
Finally, the match to crown it for the day was that between Aston Villa and Manchester City. To the fullest surprise of football fans, Aston Villa was able to successfully hold the premier league giants to a 1-1 draw, and the only goals came from Erling Haaland and Leon Baily.
This match brought the premier league for Saturday to an end.
One of the highlights of the week was the clash between the two premier league clubs, Brighton Hove Albion against Leceister City.
The match which was held in the home stadium of Brighton known as the American Community stadium saw yet another win. At first, it felt like both teams were going to have a strong duel to secure the victory for their fans but unfortunately, this wasn't the case for Leicester City.
Luke Thomas was the man to get recorded on the score sheet but at the detriment to this team because it happened to be an own goal. This did leave Leicester City with a demotivated spirit because it cancelled the opening goal scored by Nigeria's son Kelechi Iheanacho, who happened to bench Jamie Vardy in the starting eleven for Leicester City. Moments later, Brighton's midfielder, Moisés Caicedo puts another in the goal post, giving Brighton the lead but not for long, as Patson Daka equalizes for Leicester to level the playing field. Thereby making it 2 - 2 on the scoreboard for the game within thirty-three minutes of the match. The beauty of this match and an eye-gluing feature, which kept football lovers glued all through was the fast goal-scoring pace happening within the match and by the less strong team Brighton. A total of four goals were scored within the space of 33 minutes which is pretty hard to come by in the English Premier League only on special cases.
Then there was a huge change in favor of Brighton, which led them to win the match against Leicester City. By 64 on the stopwatch, Leandro Trossard blessed the goalpost with a lovely goal giving his team the lead. Then, Alexis Mac Allister followed up with another goal, making it 4 - 2 in favor of Brighton. As if that wasn't enough, he scored another through an awarded penalty. The match was a must-watch, packed with premium entertainment from the display of Pascal Gross, Alex Mac Allister, Leandro Trossard, and other talented Brighton players. In the end, Pascal Gross was awarded the man of the match and I must say that Brighton is a team to look out for this season. I sincerely hope they keep up with the tenacity.
Another match that kept viewers close to their screen was the clash of two premier league titans, Manchester United and Arsenal, This match which served as Arsenal's end of an unbeaten run, was really exciting and heart-breaking for Arsenal supporters. This is not the turnout they were expecting.
The first heartbreak came from VAR's denial of Gabriel Martinelli's goal which served as an opener for the match. The denial of awarding the goal to Arsenal was due to the foul committed by Martin Ødegaard around 12 minutes of the match. The VAR ruling brought the game back to a leveled score of 0-0, until the United's latest signing, Anthony gave a left-footed shot, which led to a goal against Arsenal and was assisted by Marcus Rashford. This immediately gave the Red Devils a goal lead against the gunners but this was still far from over. The struggle for three points between these teams was still on as fans kept roaring at the top of their voice as a means to show their love and support for their team, until the end of the first half.
At halftime, Manchester United was a goal up and Arsenal were yet to score an equalizer. Then the second half kicked off, ten minutes into the game and the struggle could still be felt in the atmosphere and seen in the way both teams were giving their all for a win, with their counters, defense, and strikes. The game took a turn for good for the Manchester fans as five-time Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo came in to replace Anthony. Even after being substituted into the match, his impact was yet to be felt by his teammates and fans as Arsenal finally got the equalizer they have been desperately searching for. The goal was scored from a powerful shot from the center of the box from the skillful legs of Bukayo Saka.
But after the brilliant goal, the goal drought befell the Gunners for the rest of the match. Attempts were made but a futile result was all that was gotten. While on the other hand, the like of Marcus Rashford was disturbing the net of his opponent with goals, thanks to the two lovely assists gotten from Bruno Fernandes and Christen Eriksen respectively. This brought the match to an end with a total of 3-1, giving Manchester United the win and making Marcus Rashford the man of the match.

Another week for Salah to fire blank. I am considering taking him out this week but I am still thinking of "What if he performs against Wolves?" Hahaha that dilemma especially how Saka scored after I took him out. The same thing with Toney...scoring hattrick after I took him out.
This week was also filled with VAR and refereeing issues. Messed up a lot of things.
I'd leave him with the armband till he performs
Hahahah I've given his armband to Haaland since.
Salah is holding the entire league hostage right now
🤣🤣😂🤣😂 that's the right word to use for him... "Hostage". He should free us please.
Unfortunately Salah is not leaving up to everyone's expectations in the FPL, I have already swapped him for De Bruyne.
I have De Bruyne already and I can't bring Bernado in as well. I'm confused about who to bring in.
I'm thinking of doing the same, but I'm always afraid of having mancity players cause pep can be crazy at times. I've already taken the risk with Haaland.

Each week he's part of top captaincy options and he's not delivering. My skins not thick enough to remove him from my team, but I'm not captaining him. Atleast if he performs ill still have him, that's something
That's true. He is unpredictable and he might just do his magic in the next game that's why I've been reluctant to drop him.

It's hard because the week we take Salah out, he would rip it up
Exactly. That's my worry... I will keep him against Wolves and see what comes up.
Mine couldn't be going worse even if I tried.
There there, look on the bright side; at least Liverpool won their match this weekend. Oh wait, scratch that, they didn't win.
Yeah, you're having a horrible game week.
McCallister with a hat trick and Toney with a hat truck. Two underrated players here..luckily have Toney in my team. May swap McCallister in for Diaz.
Toney rubbed it in after his performance by calling out all the FPL managers that sold him.
Mine was poor and I had a feeling that my squad won't deliver anyway we go again next week.
That's the spirit champ.
I was a little below the team average, I can't believe I traded Haaland for this Liverpool striker
Fueron partidos demasiado interesantes, y con resultados tan inesperados. Pero una buena jornada
I had an average gameweek, with about 57 points but it seems almost everyone had a bad week so Lucky me. I had Toney (who I was Close to selling) and took a -4 to bring in Haaland and Eze. It all turned out good. I'm hoping I can do better next week. I'm currently far behind where I thought I'd be by now.
@hivefpl, as Man U fans it's was amazing with the new boy Anthony, he makes us believe in him though it too early to justify that but we still believe he will deliver at Man U. more love to the catch for signing him.
It was an horrible Gameweek for me. My point was even below the global average. I hope the next will be better.
