We have come to the end of yet another week of EPL football and this was one of those low scoring sorts of weeks. The highest in the hive FPL for this week finished with x points.
In the game week, we had a couple of entertaining fixtures, as always. There was late drama, surprises and a lot to talk about, so let's just dive straight into it.
For the second week in a row, Arteta's charges kicked off the game week with a very tantalizing fixture with numerous subplots. He took his table-topping charges to Birmingham, where they faced a resurgent Villa side managed by Arteta's predecessor.
Emiliano Martinez never misses an opportunity to remind the Gunners faithful that they lost and the World cup winner was once again in fine form. Unfortunately for him, there's not much he could do to stop Arsenal from scoring their late goals and his owners will be ruing the fact that the fifth goal of the match was an own goal.
Martinelli owners probably thought it was going to be a bad day in the office but the Brazilian winger came from the bench and scored the fourth goal. Saka, Zinchenko and Jorginho all scored points as well.
Ollie Watkins continued his scoring run with a fine finish with his left foot that left the gunners trailing. Coutinho also marked his first start under Emery with a calm finish that also left the gunners trailing at halftime.
Three goals in the second half earned the gunners a dramatic victory and got them back to the top of the league. It was an exciting wat h for gunners faithful and neutrals alike.
Yet another fixture that had drama, Brentford hosted the Eagles. Eze gave the Eagles the lead around the 70th minute but that wasn't enough to clinch the victory.
In the 96th minute, Janelt came up clutch with a dramatic headed finish from a Mbuemo delivery. That was enough to share the spoils and give the 3.2% of his owners a boost for the game week.
Palace will be left ruing their missed chances as their progress away from the relegation zone was halted. However, it is still a decent result for Palace considering Brentford's current form.
The Seagulls' fine form was definitely going to be threatened by Marco Silva's charges. The Cottagers have bruised their way into one of the European spots and we're out against one of the other teams vying for the spot.
One goal from Solomon was enough to clinch victory for the visitors to give them a second victory on the trot.
One of the surprises of the week came at the bridge as Graham Porter's charges were stunned by the bottom club, Southampton. The Saints came out as unlikely winners after defending their one-goal lead that was earned by an expertly taken freekick by Warde Prowse.
The Blues did their best to equalise and couldn't do so but it wasn't for the want of trying. The Blues will once again return to the drawing board and start figuring out a way to sort out their poor season.
The debates as to whether Coleman meant to score or cross with his finish will persist but that was enough to give the Toffees the only goal against Leeds.
That goal and the final result got the Toffees out of the relegation zone. Alex Iwobi creates the assist for the day and with a double-game week coming, it might be time for managers to start looking his way, as he continues to be the creative spark of the team.
When you look at the fixture calendar, you'd have looked at this game and thought it would be an easily predictable outcome. One would expect the Citizens to dominate the match and after Bernardo Silva's strike, you'd have thought City were on course to bring the hurt.
Alas, some wayward finishing that includes Halaand blasting over the bar at point-blank range and suspicious officiating combined to starve City of the second. Unfortunately for them though, they were given a brutal reminder of why a one-goal lead in the Premiere league is not safe.
Chris Wood's near post finish from a Gibbs White cross was just what the doctor ordered. The match ended 1-1 with City dropping points in the title race against the gunners, finishing the day in second spot.
Wolves hosted Bournemouth in this bottom-of-the-table clash that could have repercussions in the relegation battle. Alas, it was the Cherries that came out victorious thanks to a goal from Tavernier.
Wolves have been jerkyl and Hyde this season and this was evident in their performance in the weekend. Despite creating chances, they couldn't find the goal they needed so much.
Now just three points above the first relegation spot, the Wolves will be looking over their shoulder. Two more bad results are all it takes to be sucked into a relegation scrap.
The Magpies hosted a stuttering Liverpool side as the presumed favourites due to their league position. Unfortunately, you wouldn't have been able to tell as the Reds came out guns blazing to take the early lead.
Nick Pope saw a straight red for handling outside the box and the English goalkeeper will now be unavailable for the Carabao cup final this weekend. His ridiculous decision put his team at a disadvantage and they suffered even further.
Darwin and Gakpo got the two goals for the Reds but it was nice to see TAA among the points again. He had one of those weeks that reminds you of his immense potential and why you should consider bringing him back into your team.
Mo Salah wasn't among the goals but the Egyptian forward grabbed an assist on the day.
The red devils started the day in third position and finished there but dropped points by their neighbours saw them come within just two points to city. Two goals by the in-form Rashford and another from Sancho consigned the Foxes to a 3-0 loss.
The scoreline somewhat flattered the Red devils though, as the Foxes had numerous chances to put the game to bed in the early stages. However, profligacy combined with some world-class stopping by De Gea was enough to keep the Red Devils in the tie.
What followed was a moment of magic between Rashford and Bruno that got the Red devils into the lead. The Foxes continued to pile on the pressure but it was the red devils that got the second and third of the game.
The red devils continue the hot streak that has seen them blitz through the table and should now be considered genuine title contenders. They're only two points behind City and five points behind Arsenal, having played one more game.
The final fixture of the game week was a London derby between Spurs and West Ham. Spurs hosted their London neighbours and came out victorious.
This victory pushed the North London outfit into the top 4 after Newcastle's loss the day before.
Goals from Emerson and Son coming off the bench were enough to give Spurs the lead. They're now in the top 4 and going from strength to strength. Here's how the game week ended, the EPL table and the Hive FPL top ten.
