Same Old Lions

While many things have changed around our house in the past year, there are some things that apparently haven't changed that much. I think just about the entire state of Michigan was saying "same old Lions" after the game on Sunday. At the very least they were saying "Same old Officials" and from what I have heard, Cincinnati was feeling the same way.

This is the first football season that I haven't had Jovi sitting next to me on the couch as I watch the games on Sunday. Actually, it was usually a race to see if I could lay down on the couch before she jumped up there to take my spot. Occasionally she would share the couch with me, but usually if she didn't get her way, she would skulk away to the bedroom where @mrsbozz was napping.

It definitely feels a lot more empty without her there next to me, but her ashes are right under the TV, so in a way, she is still there watching the Lions with me.

As you might have guessed from the title, the Lions had a tough home loss against Tampa Bay on Sunday. It was a farce of a game to be honest. While the defense had plenty of sacks, they failed to execute downfield and Tampa Bay was able to score a lot more than they should have been able to.

On top of that, it seems that the Lions have lost their luster in Vegas and while the officials were giving them the benefit of the doubt last season, this season they are back to screwing them over every chance they get.

There were so many bad calls in this game it was absolutely inexcusable. Perhaps not as inexcusable as the officiating in the Kansas City/Cincy game. There is zero way you can watch that game and tell me the NFL isn't totally rigged. The funny thing is, no one cares about Kansas City anymore. It's not like they are America's team. Heck, I think the Cowboys have a better chance of reclaiming that title than KC and I hate the Cowboys.

There is clearly a lot of house cleaning that needs to be done when it comes to officials in the NFL. I know it won't happen, but it really needs to.

New Orleans is looking like the team to beat so far this year. They have put up some massive scores over the past two weeks. I really need to see if any of their players are free agents in my fantasy league.

Minnesota beat San Francisco, Seattle beat New England in overtime, and Washington beat the Giants.

Carolina continues to be the laughing stock of the league, Cleveland beat Jacksonville, and Las Vegas had a tight win over Baltimore.

After a heartbreaking loss last week, Arizona dismantled the Rams, Pittsburgh beat Denver, and Houston topped Chicago. Finally, last night gave us a thrilling finish with Atlanta beating Philly 22 to 21.

I hope the Lions can bounce back and get a little more disciplined moving forward. One loss isn't a season ending thing for them, but if they continue to be this sloppy with all the stupid penalties, then they are going to have a rough season.

Can't really get around to watching NFL games which is a shame because it is the only sport I truly enjoy watching. You may have read that recently I got up to watch UFC and perhaps, just maybe, I could make some sort of effort to do that on Mondays here to catch all the Sunday games. It would seriously screw up my sleep pattern for the rest of the week though but it is not like I have a 9-5 to contend with.

It's too bad you can't get something like NFL Sunday pass or YouTube TV where you could just record them all and watch them whenever. I often take a nap on the couch when I am watching the Sunday games!

There were some really close games and some games that should have been more so if it hadn't been for the obvious bias.
