NCAA Football Week 2: What to look for

The wait is over and the NFL season has officially begun. We got to see an interesting match up between the Chiefs and the Ravens last night. Honestly, I didn't watch any of it. I was busy catching up on DVR's episodes of Shogun and then I went right to bed. It's a fantastic show if you haven't watched it yet by the way.

Top 25 college football starts it's second week tomorrow and I am honestly looking forward to some of these matchups. I'm not going to give you a full breakdown, but I will highlight a couple of the games I am going to be keeping an eye on. Then, if you want to try and check them out, you know what you might want to hit or miss.

That Oklahoma State versus Arkasas game could be good. I'd be a bit more in favor of the Razorbacks if it were on their home turf though. I also think the #3 Texas versus #10 Michigan game is going to be a good watch. My brother in law (who is a U of M fan) seems to think that Michigan is going to get trounced. Believe me, as a Michigan State fan I would love nothing more! I think it might be closer than people think though. I've been to the Big House and there is definitely something special about it.

Although they played pretty crappy last weekend, I am not ruling them out against Texas. In fact, I might even put some money down on it as much as I hate cheering for the maize and blue.

The Iowa State/Iowa game could be a good in state rivalry, and although it isn't a top 25 game, you know I will be watching the Michigan State/Maryland game. I hope they can look a bit better than they did last weekend. I honestly think a toddler has more composure at this point.

That #14 Tennessee vs. #24 North Carolina game could be good, but I kind of expect that the Volunteers will come away with the win. My inlaws Alma Matter Western Michigan heads down to Columbus to face the Buckeyes. That will likely be a bloodbath.

Beyond that, you should just watch whatever you want or whatever is available to you. The fact is, college football is back on and that is always a good thing.

If I did have to pick one more game to keep an eye on, it might be that Baylor vs. #11 Utah game. I don't know, something about it just speaks to me. Again, it would probably be an easier call if it were down south, but you never know.

As always, be sure to check back on Monday when I recap all the top 25 action!
