Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 2: Whatever

Fantasy Football (1).png

At least we are in this together... I think the fact that both my wife and I are on a two game losing streak since the beginning of the season would be a lot harder to take if one of us was doing well and the other one was not. She told me the other day that she has basically already given up on the season. Right now she says she doesn't care anymore and I honestly can't say that I blame her.

The reality is, we are far from finished, but it just seems like no matter how hard we try, we are just not destined to do well in our family fantasy league.

This week actually didn't start out as bad for me as last week, but the end result still wrapped up the same way.

I actually blame the rout of Miami by Buffalo as the culprit for my loss this week. If the game would have been as close as they thought it was going to be, Allen would have needed to pass a lot more and that would have boosted his numbers. Unfortunately, they had a quite big lead and that allowed them to rely on the running game to burn the clock. Which effectively ruined my chances of even coming close to a win this week.

Especially given the fact that I also have a Bills wide receiver rostered on my team.

As you can see, Allen and Coleman were the two huge weak spots for me this week as I mentioned above. Allen should be putting up at least 15 to 20 points every week for me to even have a shot at winning. Anything less than that is just not acceptable.

While Metcalf didn't show up at all last weekend, he did a decent job of giving me almost 19 points this week. If he can do that every week, I might finally be able to get a win under my belt! I'm just going to skip right over Coleman. I can't really complain about Thomas Jr. with 9.40 points. While closer to 15 points would be nice, you always have to account for one of your players to just be a little average each week.

Conner was amazing with 18.40 points and I will definitely be keeping an eye on him.

Elliot continues to be a bit disappointing in the running back slot. I don't know if it is him or the team, but these are not the numbers I would expect from the all star running back out of Ohio State. Something is definitely going on though. There is a good chance he will be on the bench this coming week.

Bowers did alright at tight end with almost 10 points. Again, I'd rather see him closer to 15 though. Finally, McPherson did more than you could honestly expect from a kicker getting me 16 points. I'm usually happy about 5 to 10 points from a kicker, so 16 is awesome.

Las Vegas also picked up the slack from their miserable one point showing last weekend to get me 4 points this weekend. A new defense might be on the horizon for me....

As you can see, my bench wouldn't have done me much better if I had played any of them this past weekend. Sure 1.6 points from Cooks is better than zero points from Coleman, but it still wouldn't have given me the win. Even the extra points from Goff wouldn't have been enough.

The beginning of the season is always a bit shaky. It's what I do from here on out that really makes the difference. I need to get a win next weekend or I might be left out in the cold.

Wish me luck!
