Green Apples remind me of aliens. How can a fruit be acid but tasty, juicy but crunchy, so sweet yet so sour. Most of them are tough to hold but easy to bite, it only requires some strength and ability to find the spots that magically open her to you. Her design in itself is of envy. Next to her sister, the red apple, appreciated, hated and desired by most humans, the green apple often is considered an anomaly. An alternative. Jealous of their sister’s popularity without realizing her own power. How she is the only one who’s able to be eaten raw, or the only option for some people, specially diabetics, and revered by folks like me.
The weirdness of green apples goes beyond it’s aesthetics, shape and taste. It is the fruit’s symbolism and color, green and blue are also the representatives of the beginning of life on Earth. Green has been the color of gods, of forgotten forests, micro beings residing on rocks full of moss and toxic elements we can’t see. Green Apples are revolutionary in this sense, as expensive they are exclusive, uncommon for one wouldn’t think this is anything but a vegetable or fake fruit for photographs, fabricated, we often eat more green apple candy than the apple in itself. Why? They are more natural than us, they deserve to be savoured.
Common varieties of green apple include:
Each variety has a slightly different taste, and cooks may prefer one type of green apple over another, depending on what they’re making. For most people, choosing the best green apple is a matter of personal preference depending on how tart or sweet you like your apples.
The Apple’s benefits are somewhat different from the red apple but important nonetheless. Native to Australia, from the Granny Smith kind, it stands out for its green skin and firm flesh. In addition to its distinctive flavor, green apples offer several health benefits, including being a good source of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. They also improve heart health for some unkown reason probably related to fiber lowering the LDL cholesterol. They also reduce the risk of Developing type 2 diabetes and promote digestive health through a compound called pectin that works as a prebiotic which helps growing healthy bacteria in your gut, these help break down foods more efficiently. See, aren’t they amazing? They also make you poop by stimulating your digestive system, helping with constipation, diarrhea and other digestive disorders.
On my own opinion, they are also quite addictive.
