There's nothing like you having a family that really loves you and always want to show that love by making you happy by providing your needs to show case that love.
I went through a post where @crosheille was talking about her life experience where she didn't have the opportunity to attend birthday parties, weddings and so on with the aspect of not having what to give in such occasion. My case to this is quite similar because as young boy growing up I didn't experience such while growing up due to the family I came from because of not having what to give in such event or occasion and also not having good clothes to attend any of this occasions even when invited.
my brothers and I were always down and unhappy for not attending because as children we are always after what to eat and drink at the event nothing else but not understanding the fact that my parents were preventing us from wearing odd clothes to the event and also my parents don't have what to give to support the occasion, so we usually stay back at home and since then we are use to it not going out.
Though am grateful today for life that since we didn't attend such occasion when we were Young we will someday, like my mum would always say the dream of the future is more valuable than the history of the past. She continued that since we don't have what to celebrate with others, a time will come when people will celebrate with us.
I kept those words to myself and never bothered myself again but today am grateful that I can attend as many as I want not only that I can also support the occasion with the little I have.
I have three cousin brothers staying with us, the first is 9yrs, the second 7yrs while the last born is 4yrs, this was the exact age we were then when we didn't have the opportunity to attend occasions so I decided to always get them something even if it is to take them out to have fun just to make them happy.
I always treat them like triplet, trying getting them the same thing like wears, cap, shoes just with the little I have to make them happy, which is what am most grateful today to always see smile on their faces.
Hey @emeka4. I’m glad to see you wrote a post about this, going into details about your own experiences.
I see just like me you also missed out on several events and occasions just because of what you didn’t have. We as people care about how we look or what people will think of us and that holds us back in many ways causing us to miss out.
You have a beautiful family. It’s wonderful what you are doing for your little cousins. They are so adorable and handsome. I’m sure they will never forget the things you have done for them and your kindness will have a positive impact on their lives forever. Continue doing and giving as you have with a joyful heart.
Thanks for this beautiful post. God Bless you and your family ~
Thanks I really appreciate @crosheille
You're welcome ;)
