Where are all the handy mans?

Hi friends

Just a quick rant.

Dunno if this something going on only in my country but it seems like a good chunk of handymans have disappeared and the ones left all ask for ridiculous prices for jobs that take only minutes to get done.

I recently moved to a new house and need all kinds of small repairs that in total would cost me a fortune nowadays.

For example last week, i need a couple small wall holes from nails I removed to be fixed and I was quoted 70 euros. Whattttt? That's how much money my dentist asks for the yearly tooth cleaning which takes almost an hour.

Guess what. I did some youtubing, bought some instant pudding and did it my self. The pudding was for 3 euros and in total everything took two hours of my life.And the result was perfect!

Similarly some months ago with a painting job I needed. I was quoted 100 euros (+ materials). Nope. Did it myself again. 2 hours of my life and the cost of the paint.

Now I need a quick plumbing replacement in the bath, I have yet to dared to ask for a price lol. I guess I ll just head straight to YouTube and teach myself.

I think by the end of next year I'll become a handyman myself. And as it goes, maybe I'll switch professions. 😂
