Welcome to a new Liotes Mission. Today, we have a request for you. We have published our pilot video for Telios Lens, our new Youtube Channel. It took us quite a lot of time to actually create our first video. It definitely doesn't have yet the quality that we want to reach but we wanted to get started. Today, we would like you to watch it, or at least a part of it and give us a feed-back. So the mission of today:
Watch the video below and give us a feed-back. What could we do better? What did you like? What didn't you like?
Please leave your answer as a comment below this post?
By taking part in the Liotes missions, you can win credits that will help you to increase your score and your title in the Liotes Ranking.
People who submit an answer will get 3 credits for the Liotes ranking. If you submit more than 1 answer, you will not get more credits.
We are very grateful if you enter the challenge within 24 hours after the post is published. We will try to count entries up to 36 hours after publication.
A project run by @ph1102 and @achim03
I think that this is a great introduction that has the approach and style that I've become used to in the Liotes community. So from my perspective, it's perfect.
However, I am also trying to think about the wider world. And if there's anything that might be useful to new potential followers.
One thing that always hooks me, is your challenges. So I wonder if there's a way to challenge YouTubers? Sorry that I can't think of a specific challenge at the moment. But I'll keep thinking about it.
Maybe people who are more involved with YouTube have some ideas?
That's actually a very good idea. Maybe we could have kind of Telios missions on Youtube :-)
It's nice to learn more about you two through the video. I like how your conversation flowed naturally (nothing seemed scripted). One thing is that I had to put the video on full screen so I could see you because your video boxes are quite small. Other than that, it's great that you started. Congratulations!
A very good first video, I loved it.
Just a suggestion for future videos and to reach more people. YouTube has an AI tool that generates audio in other languages. You could include Spanish and Portuguese, as there are many Spanish speakers here on Hive.
Congratulations on your first video on the channel!
Nice video! Agree with some of the comments that your faces can be bigger and more centralised haha!
That's definitely something we need to improve :-)
The layout is bad, both of you should be on the main stage, not on the bottom right corner
You are right about that.
You have to start somewhere.
It is very easy for us back seat drivers to say, this should be better and do this, don't do that... It is great to see a warts and all approach, but.. for me I would like to see it more of a watchable video. I have this on in the background, because the visual aspect was not so good. The little video boxes of you two I would have had more central.
Part of the liotes appeal is you two bouncing ideas off each other, that could have been done by making the pair of your videos windows more central and mainsteam in the video. What was the piece of art you were promoting that was the central star of the video.
Good to hear you want to share what you use/have used etc rather than shill something without using it, or drop links for referrals without even trying something.
It's a great start, and interaction is a great thing to get. Be interesting to see how much in Telios you can veer away from the chain where Liotes was birthed on....
Don't forget the wise words of Zig Ziglar ....
"You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great."
PS just liked and commented in YouTube
Thanks a lot for your feed-back.
That fits quite the state of our minds when it comes to this video. We didn't have a great script, didn't really know how to do the screen structure. So we worked during one hour to come up with something that is 'satisfactory' to start and then we just started. The result looks in my opinion a bit amateur but just didn't want to postpone it over and over and never get started.
I think that your feed-backs will help us to make things better for the next ones :-)
Yeah you did the best bit, just doing it!
I liked what I saw, it was pretty good for a first video. In my opinion, what was strange was that you had the small image on the right, I think it would be nice to have the video more centralized and larger, I think it would be better to see.
It seems that this is something that a lot of you found disturbing. The reason we did it like that is that our webcam resolution is quite bad and when our images are bigger, it's too visible. We will need to come up with a better solution however.
I think it might be better if the speakers are in the center of the video? It focuses the attention on them. Unless there's something more interesting in the main screen, like a streaming game. :)
Thanks for the feed-back. It's true that the screen structure is maybe not ideal at the moment. We will need to work on that :-)
The video was about the right length, or could have been trimmed down a little. (I use flixier to record and edit my videos.) I like the way you two interact. It was interesting to learn a bit more about your backgrounds. I liked the use of captions to clearly label each segment. All in all, a good start!

To be honest, we didn't edit much on the video a part from the segment labels. We have talked so much about getting started that we decided it's better to get finally something out rather than to try to make it 'perfect' which it will never be anyways :-)
I have seen the video and in general I found it interesting.
I really liked the clarity in the presentation and how the content was structured.
However, I think they could work a little more on the audio quality, as in some parts you don't hear as clear.
It would also be great to include more practical or visual examples to reinforce ideas.
Excellent work overall.

Thanks a lot for your input. The audio is quite tricky to figure out. Since we do the video with 2'000 km in between us, it's difficult to figure out the perfect mix and volume. I'm sure we will get better at that. I also agree with your point about the visual examples. We have to work on that as well :-)
Congrats on the inaugural video!
I think the background was a bit static. Considering most of the movements seemed to have come from the 2 of you speaking, I thought the focus was a little off. Perhaps the empty space could be better utilised with some "WOW" captions based on your convo at the moment... something like that?
But overall a great job guys! 👍
Once the video was done, that is exactly the feeling that I had. It's a challenge for us at the moment to do things while recording but maybe we could add animated backgrounds or slides in post production. We will think how to do that.
The layout also didn't like, unless you are showing slides etc I like this type of configuration with small screen of the speakers! Here we have only the topics hehe but only one constant figure , the art work.
In general it was good, I like that you guys exposed a brief of what we will expect =)
To be honest, we made our heads so small because the quality of our webcams is quite bad and when small it's not so visible. But it's not really a solution either at the moment. We will need to come up with something a bit better :-)
Totally understood 🤣🤣🤣🤣 maybe time for new webcams
I think the video was pretty good. It wasn't too long or too short. I like the way the conversation just continued on and you stated your goals.
I liked the video, both the content and the way it was presented. I appreciate the slow pace, I usually find YouTube videos stressful and in this case I was able to follow it quite well.
As a suggestion for improvement, I agree with the opinion already given by other users regarding giving more prominence to those who are speaking and reducing the space that remains static.
For a pilot video it's really good, congratulations!
It was fun, I hope it's the first of many and that you gain many followers.
I believe Achim had more emotions in the beginning but recovered on the way. A good episode for a pilot. Let's see how much interest being truthful and not hyping things up gets you on YT. Good luck!
I need clarification on this... 😂 Does that mean that I shouldn't be too boring and emotionless, or that Achim should calm down a bit? 🤣
LoL! I believe you make a good team even in the livestream precisely because you complete yourselves well.
