Zanita, the problem child.

Children are amazing beings. It is impossible to spend time with one and not have an emotional day. It could be happy emotions or something else that drives you insane, but aren't they just children?

When they smile in their sleep, I wonder what they are dreaming about, but I don't want to know what they are dreaming about when they pee in their pants. On a cold morning, a friend of mine was so kind to assist a friend of ours with her sleeping son. The little boy politely peed on his designer pants. I smiled and told him it meant that blessings were on their way. Not long after, the boy peed repeatedly. "I think I've had enough of these blessings," my friend said to me. "Do you not want some?"😀😀

I have yet to introduce Zanita, my little baby, to this community. Zanita is a sweet baby to be around, but if you want to sleep soundly at night, you should avoid her. Zanita awoke at 2 a.m. one night when the land of the dream was seriously beckoning with some magical moments, and she decided to wake her father and me to play. Every attempt to lull her back to sleep was futile. She spent the entire night clapping, cooing, and climbing all over us.

Zanita slept off by 6 a.m. the next morning. Her father and I couldn't bear to watch her sleep. Not after keeping us awake all night. As she fell asleep, her father and I began screaming and banging on the bed, just to give her a taste of what she had given us. While her father drummed on the cooking pot, I jumped on the bed several times. Zanita didn't open her eyes for the duration of this drama. In the midst of the chaos, she was sound asleep. This is the same Zanita who, despite our best efforts to get her to sleep, opens her eyes at the slightest sound.

The next night, her father suggested giving her cough medicine so she could sleep through the night because he was drowsy at work due to a lack of sleep. Even though I desperately wanted her to sleep, I couldn't agree with such a crazy idea.

Zanita has a few tricks up her sleeve. She dislikes pap. At the sight of her plate of pap, she reaches for my breast, ready to suckle, so I don't feed her the pap, but once I drop the plate, her mouth is off the nipple, and nothing I do will make her suckle until I pick up the plate of pap again.

I marvel at her intelligence on some days and want to crush her with my little finger on others, but she's such great company that I couldn't have asked for anything better.
