All flowers have multiple names.
Each culture that encounters the flower will give it a name.
Flowers often have different species. It is not uncommon for plants to develop different species in different climate zones. So, aach species will need a different name in each language.
Explorers travel the world to collect plants. Sadly, they often make mistakes with the names.
The scientific community has done a fairly good job cataloging cataloging flowers.
When I take pictures of flowers, I like to state the location of the plant and report both the local name and what I believe to be the scientific name.
I looked up Jatropha integerrima. Wikipedia says that the Jatropha integerrima is a spurge native to Cuba. Wikipedia lists many species in the Jatropha genus

The local names for plants make for some of the best stories.
Scientists have done a good job classifying plants. The scientific names usually have a European bias.
People also transplant flowers. So it is important for people to figure out what is native and what is imported.
Keeping track of the flora and fauna on this planet is an important job.
