Home Remedies that I knew of

Whenever we have an illness, the best way to cure that is to take medicine because that's one way to heal faster than using other things but what there were also home remedies that we can use for this illnesses.

Way back in the years, people use home remedies to cure their illnesses even though it takes a long time to heal the illness but it is one of the effective way to cure it than doing nothing and might end up dying. So, during my time (when I was a little boy) my mother will always use home remedies if ever that I had an illness or even my siblings.

When we talk about home remedies, we can just ask our grandparents on what will they use when there is no medicine in their house and someone has an illness. I experience that one before and my mom would always say that taking medicine is really good but it is not good to take it every day.

There are lots of things that we can use of these illnesses in our house and as far as I know that when I have a fever, my mom would always say that drink lots of water and eat lots of fruits in that span of days that I had a fever because she said that when you drink water and when you pee, the heat from my insides will go to the pee and will lessen my fever. I don't know if it is effective when I was little but I experience that one when I was in a college living in a dorm by myself with my dorm mates.

I remember at that time that after I got the fever, I drink lots of water and then pee for a couple of minutes and the pee is also really hot and I think that is effective because the hotness on my inside reduce slowly and I don't know if that is true. Let me know if this remedy is correct or this is just a myth because my mother told me that time that I need to drink lots of water.

How About remedies for Cough?

I think one of the best remedies for cough that I do in our place is drinking lots of lemon juice. The lemon juice is different in our place and it's much more smaller than the lemon but the sourness is almost the same.

My mom would make a lemon juice if we had a couch during my childhood days and not only me but she also make for our siblings. When we have a cough, my mom would rant us about why did we got a cough and then she will give us some money to buy the lemon juice in the market because at that time, the lemon juice were much more cheaper and I think for one plastic of cellophane, it is only 10php but today, it is 40-50php per kilo.

So, instead of buying some medicine for the cough, I usually prepare some hot lemon juice and not the cold lemon juice because it will worsen the cough when it is cold.

I know that there are lots of ways for the home remedies for these kind of illness and people will find a way to make a remedy in their house so that they will take care of themselves without taking any medicine.

Most of the times, home remedies are good and it is also effective to most of the people but there were also times that it is not effective and we need to go to the nearest hospital and ask what kind of illness that we have.
