Applying for Jobs & My experience

Applying for a job is not an easy one, sometimes it may take days or weeks or even months to get that job that you want. There were also people who were not confident enough to take an interview or other things and there were other people that were good enough to passed the interview even if it's their first time.

As for me, I was very nervous and don't know what to do because I didn't experience on applying for a job. There were mock job interview during my college before I graduated but I think there is a big difference for applying for a real job than a mock job interview.

I have been in my work now for almost 5 years and I can still remember those times when I applied for a job but that job that I have applied for is not in line with my course because my sister was the one who convince me to apply in her job at that time and I was delighted by the fact that she is a work from home. So, as a jobless person at that time and wants to work for a company that is also a work from home, I tried my best and hardest to become employed.

What are the key points to get in a job?

I have only a few key points to get in a job just like what I experience way back before when I first applied a job or wants to apply for another company.

  • Be confident and don't be nervous

In applying for a job, we need to be confident and don't act nervously because there is a great factor if you are confident in the interview and you have a higher chance of getting that job. There were times that even if you are nervous but your credentials and/or experience are all that it needed to get the job.

  • Study on the core values in that company that you are applying for

Before we apply for a job, we need to make sure on the core values of that company because it is a common or the basic rule. The cores values are important in this part because the company needed to have an employee that is in line with their core values.

  • Sell yourself

We need to sell ourselves on the interview and it's like selling something in a store that a customer will get the thing that you want to sell. Selling yourself is like on how good you are, what are your strengths and also your weaknesses.

These key points might help you in applying for a job if you are a first timer or if you want to get to another company. New graduates tend to struggle on getting on the job in their preferred company.

Thoughts

My work before is the same as today and my work is not in line with my course that I've been graduated in my college years. For me, I want to challenge myself in this kind of work because I don't have any confidence to this work but for over five years of this kind of work, I can say that I improve a lot when I was started this job.

I'm also learning through the years of my work and I will learn more in the future. I would also like to try another type of work than having this work each and every day. Most of the times, my work now is fun because I can interact with other people but sometimes it is boring because it is the same setup every day. Maybe a job in an office or in a government because I also like to have more colleagues that I can talk to.

Agree, especially when you just finished a degree with minimal to no work experiences at all.

It also depends in a company, sometimes the company has high standards for their qualifications.

Interacting with people has been always my problem even if I know how to answer those mock interviews at school. I find it hard to express myself orally, especially since I'm a super introverted person. I have experiences of teaching but it still hard to adapt everytime. It was hindering me to look for a regular jobs aside from part times. Confidence is really the crucial part.

We are the same, I am too shy to apply to another type of job that's why I'm sticking my current job.
