Retro Auto Show in Bulgaria

Fiat 125p Retro Car in Varna, Bulgaria

English

This is not a Lada, but a Fiat 125p, a Fiat 125 produced in Poland from 1967 to 1991, which looks very similar to the old Soviet Ladas.

This is no coincidence. The original classic Lada design was copied from the Fiat 124/125 and then barely updated for decades.

One of the main problems of planned economy / communism. There was hardly any incentive to further develop an existing product.

At the Retro Auto Show in Varna, however, there were mainly western classic cars to be seen.

When communism limited innovation not only economies 🙄

The car if it looks old nosé but I see his touch even if it is "inspired" by another model.

The sad thing is that the revolutionary communists/marxist types out there are too young to remember the whole Soviet Union implosion of communism. It's a little frightening that they are picking up strength in numbers. When there is no reward there is no innovation, just like you said..

I guess even those old Soviet vehicles will gain value as they age! A good reminder of what communist brought the world.

Yes, the production of the old Ladas was stopped when the Soviet Union collapsed.

It's nice to see those retro cars. I don't see many of them lately because maintaining them are an issue.

I myself am very fond of owning and seeing such vehicles which are old, very strong and beautiful.

These vehicles look very similar, here in Venezuela we have seen many of them.
It seems that in some political models the same events are repeated.
