Regulating my country into a more decent society

A lot of things are going on around us in our society that we feel are wrong and wish the government could intervene and place a ban on such things to regulate and make the community a safer and more decent place for all. The same goes for things that would have improved life and made things much easier but were banned for one reason or another by the government. Today I'll love to write about what I'll do differently if I were to have the ability to ban and unban some things in my community.

Personally, in my country, there are loads of things that are good and would have made our lives much easier, but unfortunately for us, the government has placed an embargo on such, meaning indulging in such would be at our own detriment and put us on the black book of the government. I've got many in mind, but I'll just highlight these two ones I'll unban, and I'm sure maybe you will agree with me on this.

The first item on the list is to lift the ban placed on cryptocurrency trading by the government in Nigeria. It's not like they're totally against it, but they've placed a ban on direct transactions with cryptocurrency and our fiat account, and what that means is that if anyone were to mistakenly make a crypto trade directly with their fiat account, such account would be banned immediately, and one would have to let go of whatever you've on such account.

Like we all know, the importance of crypto can never be overemphasized, and with the ridiculous minimum wage being paid, one needs to seek other streams of income, and crypto does just that. Unfortunately, we now need to let go of some of our earnings to P2P vendors, who stand as a middleman between our crypto assets and our desire to hunger for fiat.

This vendor takes extra fees before they can send us fiat via their own fiat account, and we can release crypto assets to them once we see the alert. I believe having a steam-less trading system would be the best, and that'll also pave the way for crypto currency to be accepted as a medium of payment within the country.

Another important thing I'll love to uplift the ban on is the order given to health practitioners not to attend to another with a severe case of bullet, hit and run, and the like without a police report. This order has led to the untimely deaths of loads of people around the country, and if such a ban were to be lifted, at least the health practitioner would immediately give such patients first aid treatment that helps secure their lives rather than leave them for dead until a police report arrives, of which we all know such wouldn't be gotten in a giffy in our country.

Moving on to things I'll ban in order to make my country a better place for all, I'll be placing a ban on alcohol and any forms of smoking items like cigarettes, weed, or shisha. These items have caused a lot of havoc in our country and led to untimely deaths, accidents, loss of sanity, and several others, to mention but a few.

Although it seems like there was a ban on weed, we still see many celebrities smoking it in their music videos, and since nothing is done to them, other members of society indulge in it. These, including beer and cigarettes, are not good for our health, nor do they add good value to our lives. This is something I dislike a lot, and it'll be good for our country if there are no smokers and drinkers. It'll also reduce the number of mad people, the rate of accidents, and several others, to mention but a few.

That's about it for now. I hope you enjoyed the read. Have a great and relaxing weekend ahead.

Every true Nigerian is worried about the way youths misbehave with drugs and the ban in crypto. I just pray they become truely sincere to themselves

I totally agree with your unbanned things. Bullet wounds have to be reported here too (but you don't have to wait before you treat), so a lot of people won't go to the hospital because they don't want to be arrested because they know the cops will be called.

But I would warn you about wanting to ban substances - I don't use them either, and I was raised in a home with addiction in the family so I know how bad it can be, so don't get me wrong. But in the 1920s the US tried to ban alcohol and it led to a major increase in crime and violence because gangs took over making, smuggling, and selling illegal alcohol. Like, the mob probably wouldn't have so much power here except they got powerful during that time due to the alcohol ban. And currently, the "war on drugs" does the same - so much crime and violence and drug cartels and gangs. Whereas if it was legal, addicts could go to a safe medical facility where it isn't contaminated and they could get help if they overdose and they could seek help to break the addiction without worrying about being arrested. And in my state, where they made marijuana legal a decade ago, opioid use has gone down, because they can get legal weed instead (which is less dangerous, health wise).

So even though I don't use, I am anti-banning of those things. Addicts of drugs are going to be addicted anyway, and I think it's better to treat it like a health issue so they can get help when they're ready (and hopefully not die in the meantime).

Oh now I see this in another light and understand your fear about what banning this substance can lead to in our society.

I'll probably recognise that , in order to not inflicts more problems on the people while trying to solve one.

For the bullet case, most people were victims of robbers and while shoot in the process, and unlike over there were they can commence treatment before police arrives.
Reverse Is the case here, because they won't even open the door of the hospital for such patients to come in, not to talk of treating them at all.

I hope this changes and that the country becomes a better place for all.

Thanks so much for taking out time to share your thoughts and experiences with me.

Stay bless.

That's crazy they can't even begin to treat them, even when they are the victim! So sad. I hope they change that soon. :(

It's ashamed, and these has happened continuously for years, two or such case still happen between yesterday and today and while good citizen help rushed them to the hospital, they neglected them and both are dead.
I believe such won't have been the case if they were attended to.

Let's see how it goes, as we now have new leadership.

Life should be first saved before regulations and fees. I wonder why they can't attend to victim due to paper from the police and fee.

When I had an accident, even with blood gushing over and broken bone, they demand money from me at that point before attending and allow me to left because I can't afford their fee.

Cryptocurrency should be acceptable and promote across the street so that their ban will have one-sided effect

It is sad to know, police reports are essential before the practitioner makes a diagnosis and treatment. The crypto ban is hurting even in Pakistan. I don't like things that make people unconscious. I am against cigarettes and companies like them because they are putting human life into trouble.

Yea the situation of that act is killing people because they refuse to attend to them without papers from police and the likes, that's not fair.

Oh crypto is also ban in your place, I wonder why this government does such.

We are praying for the best.

Our government should just lift the ban totally on crypto and let us enjoy it to the fullest. Well maybe this will happen soon, maybe not, all the best.

Yeah I support that Alcohol, tobacco and all sort of drug abuse should be banned too, it's causing more harm than good.

First thing I would also do is to ban cigarettes and any other forms of smoking.
Smokers are liable to die young!
