Negative Impacts of Some Inventions

Ever since the advent of the information age, new inventories have been made and introduced with the aim and mindset of bettering lives, easing the energy consumed to perform our daily activities, making activities easier, improving health conditions and well-being, and improving our farm productivity. Inventions have literally come in different fields, but while most were made with the mindset to improve lives, some inventions are doing the opposite, and I want to share one invention that I personally think is killing rather than improving lives as supposed by its first inventors.

There are actually loads of such inventions that are posing dangers to our lives, well-being, and ecosystem, and many of us have failed to see these things as they truly are because we thought they're improving lives, which they truly are in one way, but on the other hand, they're detrimental to everything that sustains our lives and the world. Such inventions include single-use plastic, pesticides, fertilizers, nuclear weapons, social media, and body cream.

To a layman who hasn't taken out time to study all this, they'll think they're cool and have no danger they pose to us as humans, but if you're the type who has studied what the world has been plagued with in the past few decades, then you'll agree with me that these inventions have truly been detrimental to our world as much as they seem to be saving it. Well, I'll be focusing on just one among all of the ones I slated above, so without further ado, let's get to the business of the day.

One singular invention, I think, is posing dangers to our health and well-being, and the longevity of the human race is the body cream or lotion. Creams have been in existence for centuries. In the early days, the main purpose of these creams was to help us maintain healthy and gloomy skin. With the use of shea butter and coconut oil, they've helped correct issues of dry skin and sunburn, and hair and baby skin moisturizers were made possible. Both of these earliest creams have no side effects and are naturally extracted from shea trees and palm kernels.

Unlike in the early days, creams and body lotions are now being made with different chemicals and substances that are hazardous to our body, and when such comes into contact with sun light, it will only, in a gradual process, degenerate our skin and cause harm to our health. Although not all body creams cause this, one of the hazardous materials that lead to this damage to our skins are the preservative ingredients of this body cream.

While this has posed loads of dangers to our skin and caused different skin issues, we've seen people and investors dive into more related killing inventories like skin-lightening creams and lotions, which has led many people to try to bleach their skin and look more fair and bright in complexion. This lightening cream literally piles the first layer of defense of our skin that's naturally there to reduce the damage sunlight rays cause to our skin, and now with the usage of these creams, that line of defense of most people's skin has been washed off innocently, and now they're trading their well-being at the expense of good looks.

While I would have loved to correct these notions and bring about awareness of the dangers such creams cause to our bodies, my efforts, I believe, will be useless because these creams have been widely accepted in our society, and going against them will only bring about backlash from ignorant people who know little or nothing about the detriment they're putting themselves into. I really hope this will be curbed in the near future, or else humans will gradually brood a general of unhealthy generations, which will then in the end lead to our extinction.
