MY WEIGHT-GAINING AND WEIGHT-LOSS EXPERIENCES

(Edited)

When it comes to weight. I'm not the type who is concerned about it. But then, moving on in life, there were some things that came up that made me decide to gain weight. But then, to be honest, things still came up and made me want to reduce my weight. I know this is kind of funny that I've tried to gain weight and also try to lose weight, despite saying I'm less concerned about my weight. So today I would like to give you the full details of what led to that.

Engaging in weight loss and weight gain activities is something I have done in the past. The reason being that at the time I was very slim, and a lot of people were complaining about how skinny I was, so I decided to gain some weight. But then I realized that in the process of trying to gain weight, I became so big that the same people were complaining about me being too big, and then I was thinking of losing weight again.

I can remember back in the days when I was in secondary school and my early years in university. I was so skinny that most of my friends were like, "Don't you eat. But no matter how much I try to let them know I eat, the weight ain't just coming. They just keep advising me to indulge in activities that will make me gain weight or use a drug that will stimulate that. Even though I don't like being told what to do, and for this matter, I reason along with them, I began to indulge in some exercise that helped me gain weight.

Although I was very lazy when it came to weight lifting and indulging in physical exercise, I still joined some of my friends in doing push-ups. I tried to lift weights, but I couldn't, so I left that. Instead, I fetch water long distances away from my house using two 25-liter jerry cans. This helped me build my strength and gain weight while eating some nutritious meals that were prescribed by my friends. I don't, and I didn't use any of the words stimulating drugs," which they prescribe.

This continued for a while until I started gaining weight, and then my friends were of the opinion that I was gaining too much weight again. It was very funny, and I must confess I was literally angry with them. Because I felt like you were the same set of people complaining about me being too skinny. How can you not come up and say, I am so fat?" But then I looked at myself in the mirror, and I was like, "Man, it seems you have gained too much weight.

Despite that, I didn't take the advice; instead, I continued my diet and activity. But then weight loss came naturally during the period when I was depressed due to my health issue, heartbreak, and other issues. I was losing weight drastically. So that was what made my friend think I was following their advice, only to realize it was for another reason, and then they had to cheer me up before I could regulate my weight to what it is currently.

What I learned from all of this is;

  • To never pay attention to everything people say about your weight, Instead vet it probably and decide if it's something you want yourself or just let it slide.

  • Another is that it helps me watch my diet, eating nutritious meals and stay healthy.

  • One of the beauties of gaining or losing weight is that, when you follow the proper procedure and do not use any stimulating drugs in the process of gaining or losing weight, you are also maintaining a good medical condition.

That's about all of my weight-gaining and weight-loss experiences. I hope you enjoy reading it and learn something from it. The write-up was inspired by the Hive Learners community writing prompt.

Thanks for your time, have a blessed and productive day ahead.

Why do I find your story so funny, we can never satisfy people, and that was exactly what happened to you😁

The heartbreak must have really touched you for you to be depressed and even lose weight, means you were heartbroken for a long time😥

Yeah it's indeed very funny. The outbreak was very disheartening and it affected me a lot because I never expected it and truly it last for a very long time probably about three years.

I am not a fan of stimulafimg drugs too; it has its side effect. I remembered some telling me to take a drug, can't remember the name just so I could lose weight. I didn't buy it but indulge in exercises. The best is to caution how you eat and most importantly, eat healthily.

Yes that's a good idea You've as well. Stimulating drugs can cause a lot of damage in the end so it's better to avoid it totally.
