Rising Star Raves, Pro Cards, and Didgeridoos, Oh My

It’s been awhile since I last posted about the Rising Star Game here on the Hive Blockchain. There has been a lot of stuff going on in game since the release of Raves to the game. I am finding the Raves feature to be an interesting add-on to the game, and it is mildly rewarding, but then I only have a few (thousand) fans in FA cards to use for Raves.

Raves involves assigning your FA cards to one of four color-coded Raves. The concept is fairly simple, pick a Rave, assign your FA cards to it, and if you have an RV2 Hoax Vall cad, assign it as well, and assign your RV1 Police card to a different Rave. The effect of the RV1 Police card reduces the number of Fans at a Rave due to arrests, while the RV2 Hoax card reduces the number of effective RV1 Police cards. If your in the winning Rave, and your fans survive Police Raids (number of Fans arrested are spread out amongst the participants), the larger the share of the prize pool you receive. Pretty neat. The RSG Dev team has made some adjustments to how the two RV cards work as there are a few big money players that have piles of these cards. For the record, I have one each of RV1 and RV2.

Currently, in addition to the occasional tweaks to how Raves funcion, the RSG team is working on a new section of content, Pro Missions. These will involve having a varying number of Pro People and Pro Instrument cards that are made by blending a number of out-of-print cards into a Pro card. Although the Pro Cards have been getting released over the past several months, the new conttent is not ready for Prime Time, and the Dev Team has not given an ETA for its release, aside from, it will be here when it’s ready. I am looking forward to the arrival of the new content.

I’ve been playing Rising Star for close to two years now, and my progress is beginning to pick up speed. It took over a year for me to crack the Top 100 on the Leaderboard, and several more months before I got high enough to make it into the Leaderboard Reward pool. I’ve also seen over the last few months, the number of Fans I have from NFTs rise from a few hundred thousand to close to 1.2 million fans from NFTs.

Now, if you have read this far, and thanks for doing so, I want to touch on something fun related to RSG and music. For anyone who knows me, I am not a working musician, just a hobbyist who sometimes dabbles with my guitars and drums (Djembe and Dumbek) I have here at the house, emphasis on dabble. However, I so have friends who are serious musicians, and some play some very interesting and unusual instruments. The Rising Star Game features a number of such unusual instruments, and I thought I would write about one of them: The Didgeridoo.

RSG has two NFTs (currently), featuring the Didgeridoo; i17 Didgeridoo and E154 Sun Didge. The first one, i17 Didgeridoo, has a sound sample of the instrument being played. It’s a really nice bit of audio. As the game includes a means to create short music tracks, this should be fun to experiment with, especially when combined with a few different types of percussion instruments. Something I plan to play around with when I have a bit of free time.
