Let's talk music and play ( day 6 Contest )

Libre is a famous song by Nino Bravo. The Valencian recorded it on his album Mi tierra, released in 1972, after having performed it live before. He died in 1973 in a traffic accident, ending his musical career. The authors of the composition are José Luis Armenteros and Pablo Herrero. The most common theory is that the writers drew on the tragic story of Peter Fechter, the first man killed attempting to cross the Berlin Wall.

Manolo Castro said that it was a 'tragic hit that gives meaning to the lyrics' in Rebobinando, on Radio 5 in 2014: 'Peter Fechter was shot while trying to cross the thick wall of East Germany.'

He "died an hour later on the ground while those present were outraged to see him dying." Pablo Herrero denied that Nino Bravo's song talks about Fechter's death on the Berlin Wall. "It was not inspired by that story," the composer confirmed on the radio show Back on May 23, 2021. Less epic, more domestic, less important.

It was born from the rebellion of a Spanish generation raised under the dictatorship and repression until the year 75, the death of Franco. However, this song is from the year 72, he was still alive. We didn't need to look at Germany. We were living it here. The musician declared that the absence of freedom was evident.
