Saturday Supermarket Meals & Not Feeling Too Great Today

Plans vs execution

Today was supposed to be the day that I finished the contest entry I started writing for @ladiesofhive. Sorry @kerrislravenhill, my body decided I needed to rest in the afternoon and I still don't feel clear enough to make it work. I will finish it in the next days after the deadline as I already started it so might as well use it.

Today was also the day that I was supposed to use the treadmill once more because on Monday they will pick it up, we seem to have managed that they take it back after all, because they delivered a faulty product in the first place. My plans were to use it just a few more times but my body says nope, not doing that.

The day wasn't all useless

I at least walked through all the steps and bundle of paperwork again which I will need for the passport renewal of the little one and all seems to be complete now. Just to be sure, I will let my boyfriend read every page as well and double check every document number to avoid nightmare situations after flying into the big city and spending tons of money on these few days.

Usually, weekends are good

And I'm productive but I don't feel 100% and I'm now slightly worried that I will get ill just before our planned trip. At least I have insurance so I believe I could at least cancel/postpone but let's hope it's not needed because that means I'd have to plan it all again as well.

The air has been BAD

A week ago, we didn't see anything looking out of our window. I checked the air quality and it was 6x higher than usual and marked as really bad. Lots of fine particles, sorry, I didn't remember the names, seeing what I saw and reading what I read was enough to know this is not healthy. Not even for a healthy person, let alone for the ones that have health issues.

I already thought then that it might become the reason we can't fly out when we planned our trip because these things usually take a week, or two before you start to feel ill. At least, speaking from experience. I never saw the air this bad though, this was a first.

My mood today, lol

Not that happy

I wanted to share some happy stuff and nice pictures after I decided I can't finish the contest post properly because it just doesn't "flow". You probably know what I mean, you have posts where you just do a "freewrite" get things of your chest, such as this one, and then you have those where you really make an extra effort and want it to look great. I can't make it happen today. I'm calling quits.

But what about dinner you may wonder? Thankfully, my dearest boyfriend was very willing to have a walk to the supermarket as our daughter requested pizza. So not her, btw. She hated pizza and now she requested it, how times have changed!

My boyfriend needs meat, he proposed to check if they had their ready to eat ribs and potatoes and go with that. Fine by me, you can't go wrong with potatoes with me, unless you mess them up by frying them in oil which isn't ready to be used, lol.

As you can see, they had the ribs and potatoes, so dinner took only 5 minutes to prep and that was fine by me!

Hopefully tomorrow feels better

Although I don't believe it will be the case, I hope I wake up tomorrow feeling a lot better because we were planning on driving out to the flea market that we didn't visit last week and have a little relaxation at the beach later. The way I'm feeling today, I don't see that happening, which really sucks even more as I don't like weekends to be ruined fully, but then again, who does..

Let's stay positive and make it a memorable weekend either way!

Some days are like that, I hope today is going better. The food looked really good though and I don't think you were all that incoherent and had some decent flow.

It's good you got through the paperwork nightmare, that always feels good!

Thanks for the compliment but the post I was writing surely didn't.. and that sucks if you really want to tell a story. So my post will be published but after the contest is over, that's fine..

I rather have it written properly and with the pictures I wanted to share than rush it and not feel happy with the result.

Today's "freewrite" went a lot better..

The food was ok, I have to say it's not bad at all for a supermarket ready to eat dish. I was mainly just happy not to have to be in the kitchen and sit to eat only.

We have to get that stupid treadmill in the box again as well before Monday so I'm really dreading that task lol. But we have now double checked all documents for the passport and boyfriend confirmed, I have it all sorted. At least something got done :)

It's such a pain to box it up over an over... I guess the questions is why don't they just send a brand new one?

I'm glad the passport business is going well, having everything double checked is very smart. You don't want to make the trip for nothing!

Not bad so far, just need to clean a little more and do some more yard work. How's your back holding up?

They should have done that in the first place but instead they didn't even read what the mechanic (who was here twice!) his findings were, but only read : doesn't turn on. This was not even the issue, this was selected in their ticket system as there was not right option to select. Which obviously, I wrote as the first sentence ;)

They then just wrote: replaced motor (uh, why?) and replaced belt for one without brand (not true, it's the same belt, I know because I had a scratch on it from day 1).

The fact that they are so hard to contact as well as lie on their form, while we were without the whole thing for close to four weeks was reason enough for us to say, pick it up and we want to withdraw.

Normally you have 15 days only but as they have been dragging time sending a mechanic and then picking it up, I figured there was a shot I'd win it. But to be sure there is no miscommunication, I will now add the whole freaking case written and printed IN the box as well :)

My back was a nightmare today sadly.. but I Have to say when I feel ill-ish or not so great, these things feel worse too.. like it amplifies everything. It's late evening now and I think we can go tomorrow, but we'll see in the morning..

I would enjoy it after a not so nice Saturday to have a really nice Sunday out and about.

How's the yard coming along? I've read you being busy in the yard many times, do you have a big yard? Or lots of maintenance?

I'm so sorry to hear about your back, that really sucks! I hope they finally do the right thing by replacing it or refunding your money... You don't need any more stress!

1/4 acre, kind of on the large side for the area. Most homes here have smaller yards but I chose one with existing fruit tress and room for a garden. I think I'm done for the day though, my back called it quits as well!

I do have some guys who handle the lawn, but everything else is pretty much me now.

Oh that sounds lovely! This is how I envision it for when we buy a small house somewhere, some land and already existing fruit or olive trees. I also want an outside bbq area and a porch, lol.

When the back says enough, we both know better to listen to it, or we pay a high price ;)

That's nice to have a few guys handling the lawn.. At least you don't have to do everything on your own then..

Let's see if I have a tip left, I was writing a draft for tomorrow in case we will be out, but too tired to finish it.. off to bed.. and then we'll see tomorrow how it goes..

Sorry you weren't feeling great today, hopefully, you can go to the flea market tomorrow! In any case, it is reassuring that the papers have all been arranged. And well, the ladiesofhive blog, that's a shame, but if it doesn't flow well, it just doesn't work. You simply cannot always give 110%, even if you want to. Sometimes you just have to take action. And I can only say from experience that if you don't listen to those signals in time, things can go completely wrong. The blog will come later, and there will be more contests to participate in. Take it easy, give yourself some rest and tomorrow is another day!

Yeah, well the weekend was well-balanced because today was great!

About the blog, it's fine I will finish it later this week when I feel like it and then publish, it's about my favourite topic at the moment anyway lol so it will be another blog without being a contest entry..
