A walk in the park - A lovely day!

A relaxed afternoon

Good memories need to be captured and written down somewhere, therefore I always make sure to take as many pictures as I can when we go somewhere worth mentioning, especially if it turned out to be a nice day. Today I will share with you our day trip to the family park in Almeria capital. We were looking for a place to enjoy the great weather and decided to drive there because it looked like a fun park with some cool play areas as well as a few restaurants we could sit to have a drink.

I have to admit that looking at google maps, I kind of expected this park to be similar as the city park in Budapest (Varosliget), but we learned it doesn't come close to that size or the facilities. That doesn't mean it was not a good choice to spent the afternoon though, because we all enjoyed our little trip.

Playground fun

As you can see in the images above, it was quite a fun area to walk around and enjoy the playground areas. There were several different ones and I think our daughter loved them all. As it's not that hot yet at this moment, even the metal slides were good to use while these get way too hot during the summer months, unless they have some sort of roof over them. You will burn yourself if you're not careful in the summer months. This spring afternoon was perfect to test out all the slides though!

Recycle area

One of the playgrounds seemed to be educational about recycling. As you look closer at the playground equipment in the images below you can see some recycle logos as well as a Tesla recycle truck. I forgot to take pictures of the information, it would have been in Spanish anyway. I can only say the playground looked fun and kids were playing there happily.

The first hot day

Although officially not considered hot, the sun was burning and while walking in the park in the direct sun, it was the first time that I felt we'd be either tanned or burned afterwards. I realized that I need to have a travel sized sunscreen in my bag when we go out in the afternoon, in case it's needed like that day. I already noticed my daughter's face having a healthy color, got to love living in Spain where you can also keep a tan during the winter months! We never turned back pale this winter as many days were still filled with sun, I love it, feels nice.

Thirsty

One thing we aimed for was sitting down in one of the restaurants in the park so that we could have a drink and maybe eat a snack or tapa. We told our daughter that we'd check the crowds in the restaurants first so that we knew if we could sit somewhere and have a toilet stop as well. Too bad for us, all Almeria was there and none of the tables were free. There was quite a long line of people waiting. Instead we told her we'd let her play for a while and then have a drink somewhere in the neighborhood to then come back for another round of playing afterwards.

Everything was full

We had to walk about 30 minutes before we found a place having one bar table free inside. It was bloody hot in there because it was packed with people but by that time we were so thirsty that we'd taken any option, lol. To our surprise we noticed "frikandellen" on the menu and thought we'd have a nice Dutch snack as tapa. I have no clue how they decided to call it that because it simply was not a Dutch snack but a sausage. Thankfully, it was not that bad so at least we had a bite and could return to the park after an hour or so. Sitting inside was not that appealing to stay any longer, I needed some fresh air.

Nice flowers and plants

As in most parks, we enjoyed the scenery and took some pictures of nature as well.

It was a nice chill afternoon although we expected the park to be much bigger. I don't think we'd return to this park unless we'd be in the area for something else though. It's not that great and I bet there are cooler playgrounds to be found if we're close to the city again. My aim is to explore as many things before we live this area to get back in-land as soon as we find something suitable. But that's for another post and of course you can expect more content on Travelfeed now that we have some sort of bucket list to take care of in this region. High on the list is Cabo de Gata for example.

With this last picture of my daughter on the slide I will say that's all for today and thank you for stopping by to read my content.

See you soon!

What a beautiful park and I can see that your daughter is enjoying a very nice view and an exciting adventure. I so love the greenery and indeed it is a breathtaking view. Have safe travels and I hope you are well my friend.

Yeah she loved it, but to be fair, she's easily satisfied even with the tiniest playground. It's just a lot nicer if the park has something to offer for us as well, lol.

It was just a day trip but always good to find some green areas :)

Have a great day!

What a nice park! I wish they had playgrounds like that when I was a kid! I'm glad you enjoyed the day and your kid had a blast, that's what counts the most!

I know right? I'm quite sure I never saw these type of playgrounds growing up. I bet that was a luxury at the time. But things change, in terms of playgrounds, definitely for the better haha.

And that's so true, if she's having fun, we are too..
