40.5 Degrees Celcius - Frozen Yoghurt & Fruit It Is!

No swim

Yesterday my daughter and I really wanted to swim but sometimes my boyfriend just really doesn't want to do anything other than eat something and go back home as he's too tired. There are barely any calls from clients these weeks as most are on holiday, but he has to be available all day, making the days quite long and boring. Yesterday was one of these days where he just didn't want to do anything but grab some food and sit outside for a bit to go back home after.

We agreed on going tomorrow, which is today, only to realise later that on Thursdays he has his weekly management meeting with his colleagues. Oh well, Friday it is then! I don't like to go alone with my daughter if I can avoid it because if I hurt my knee again on the beach, I won't be able to drive back home and then he will have to walk 30 minutes down to get us, on top of that, I enjoy his company, lol. Good times ahead though, we plan on going 3 days in a row from tomorrow so we will make up for the wait.

So bloody hot!

We jumped in the car to drop an amazon package off and everything in the car was so hot, my boyfriend could barely hold the wheel. See the above image for proof. And yes, we know the car can use another clean up session inside but it's just way too hot now, lol so deal with the spots for now! It was actually 41 degrees when we get in the car but by the time we drove a bit it dropped quickly. We always try to park on the spots where there's not full sun all day but the neighbours obviously also fancy a non-melted car so we can't always make it happen.

Frozen Yoghurt

There are several frozen yoghurt shops here, I have to admit that every time we went there, I took the chocolate ice cream which is actually not that great but I love the fruit they offer as toppings. This time I decided to take the yoghurt for once and man, I will never go back! I forgot how much I loved yoghurt ice cream when I was younger, we had this Italian ice cream shop who had the best natural yoghurt ice cream. I fancied it more than chocolate ice cream while at the time I was a big sweet tooth still. Imagine how good it was haha.

But damn, frozen yoghurt with strawberries and kiwi for the win, so good! We had to be quick eating it so instead of walking back to the tapa bar, my daughter and I sat on the boulevard to finish our ice cream and yoghurt because I don't think it would have survived the walk.

Tapas and back home

Once finished we had 2 tapas and went back home to cuddle the kittens.. Who had been very naughty because we just saw Luna's but coming out of the couch, where they constantly try to hide in. We try to avoid it by putting a sheet on top but they always find ways to get in, sigh. This time they seemed shocked that we were home and both looked very naughty when we came in, lol. Priceless!

How was your week so far?

Wow, nice and toasty warm there! The frozen yoghurt looks awesome though, especially with the Kiwi and Strawberries, yum!

Sorry to hear about the knee, that will slow you down a lot, I know from experience. Too bad she couldn't swim but hopefully this weekend will make up for it. I forgot how things are in Europe in summer, everyone is on vacation especially in August.

I'm on the mend from the arthritis flare up, but not still not up to speed like I would like to be. But I've taken it easy on work this week, the nice thing about being my own boss! I hope your knee is doing better along with the back!

Hey! yeah I got myself a new favourite :) lol frozen yoghurt!

I don't have knee pains right now, it was the case before and I'm still a bit cautious on the beach as a year ago that turned out to be tricky when the sea is wild, I noticed yesterday when walking on the beach there were big waves for here.. Just feels safer having him with me just in case.

Not everyone is on holiday here btw, in Holland the summer holidays last 6 weeks, here 12 because they end the school early and then August just really isn't optional because of the heat lol. On sept 1 the teachers go back to school but the classes don't start until another 10 days or so.

I'm sorry about the flare up not healing as quickly as you wanted. Do you have any nasty side effects from the Prednisone? I remember that my blood pressure went through the roof when they gave it to me last year, causing me to be SUPER scared for a few days as I thought I was dying (it was that high and I felt that bad). Later I learned the blood pressure needed meds (which I take daily and helps well) but I got a bit of a Prednisone scare that time ;) stopped taking them immediately so whenever I read someone taking these, I'm a bit scared for them.. Hope you're not having any of that stuff!

My back is not too great today, I was doing fine and probably overdid it a bit, I have one tablet left and then I need to go back to the other doc's prescribed meds I guess. I'm a bit scared for the weekend honestly. But as I mentioned above, my knee is fine now it's more a precaution due to earlier events hehe. MY knees will always be a tricky thing so I just need to be careful, that's all.

Take it easy over there!

Glad the knees are doing OK! You got to be careful with those big waves though, they can be dangerous especially if there's a riptide. It's nice when he can be there with you as well, it's good company.

I would love to have six weeks vacation especially if it's paid. One can dream!

It's calmed things down for the most part, no real side effects. I'm starting to taper off today. I just hate taking medications, but as I'm getting older it seems they are becoming old friends... Sigh.... I'm on pills for hypertension too, family curse!

Try not to overdo with the back, hopefully that physical therapy will help out! Still no response from the MRI center?

Yes these waves can really throw you out of balance :)

6 or 12 weeks is way too long if you ask me but that's because of the need to keep the little one occupied lol.

Glad it calmed down a bit, I can see why you don't really fancy these tablets. I would not really be happy taking these either after that experience, but sometimes I can see why we have to do so. Haha, such as with hypertension, gosh I'm happy to have these!

I finally found the right centre now I only need to make them pick up the phone :) lol, easy peasy!

heading out for dinner and drinks with the boyfriend, babysitter on the way, yay! Have a good weekend!

and both looked very naughty when we came in, lol.

I bet their shocked faces would be amazing. Did you take a picture or they quickly masked their expressions before you could think of a camera?😂

My week's been what it is. Not too awesome. But not so terrible either. Just here and there and I'm grateful that it's not worse at least.

Love that yoghurt ice cream though. Strawberry and kiwi seems like a nice blend.

Yeah it was a picture moment for sure, but we both had our hands full with groceries so too bad for us. we need to lock in the sofa better next time we leave haha.

Any plans for the weekend on your end?

It was a nice combo, so yum!

Yeah it was a picture moment for sure

Yeah. Would make an excellent GIF. That's for sure. Lol

I've had my head bugged with a lot of thoughts. But I hope I'll be able to relax this week. I'll be indoors, unfortunately. But it'll be nice to rest. Read a book and enjoy nature in my backyard. Hah!

OH for sure, I had a few of these moments suitable for a GIF but usually too late capturing it or it turns out to be a bad picture lol. Soon, hopefully, I can capture one :)

Oh sorry to read that you are dealing with some struggles. Relaxing sure helps to clear the mind. Indoors usually doesn't do much good, I know this from experience, we were sort of locked up in here for 9 months living up a steep hill without transportation until we had a car. We often didn't go out for days, which isn't great for the mood, especially not when we were worried about something.

Glad to read you have a backyard, that must help a lot!

Take care!

Ooh 40.5 degrees looks hard! Here where I live (Buenos Aires) the thermal sensation rarely reaches that temperature and I can confirm that it is unbearably hot... it is incredible how cars raise such temperatures, and to think that there are people who leave their pets locked up there while goes shopping... terrible.

And that ice cream looks delicious, perfect for a hot day. I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for posting on Daily Blog ❤️!

Oh it's insane that people don't understand how horrible that is locking up a pet in a car with these temperatures :( makes me angry!

Yes it was great, I hope we can get another one somewhere this weekend after a good swim :) lol

Have a lovely day!

Occasionally, I like to prepare something similar to that at home, but I didn't try them "on the street"... From the photo that you shared, it looks yummy! And it's the best way to "survive" this heatwave!

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project which will be highlighted in the next post!
