Circulated Italian euro coins

The first time I noticed that I thought Italian coins stood out in their design was when I had some circulated euro coins and kept them in a box to check out later. I was both surprised and excited when I read about these coins being rare when I landed upon a few of them. I figured I'd better not spend them and keep them until I had time to further investigate this matter as I already saw quite soon in my journey on the hunt for values of currently circulated euro coins that some people just ask ridiculous prices hoping that they sell without further explanation..

Extremely rare find

They just write extremely rare, or sometimes they put some red circles around the coins and when I started comparing them with mine, I found the same things, later I found that they were offered in so many price ranges, often from sellers with 0 reviews or even bad reviews that I was very suspicious of it being true.

Seller with good rep

There is still one coin I need to check later because of that one I found a listing of a reputable seller (so it seemed at least) which made me wonder if there was truth in what was written. I yet have to get to that though because I first started sorting through the German euro coins that seem to come in bulk here and some ask 50 euros for 1 euro coin just because, lol. When I bought the magnifier and saw mine had no weird errors or things I read that could make them valuable, I took them all to the flea market to spend on other stuff as my box with change became too full.

Back to the Italian coins

I'm a member on a second hand platform where I saw these ridiculously priced 1 or 2 euro coins but also found quite a bit of nice silver for more reasonable prices. Whenever I get rid of some of our old stuff and I have some money in my online wallet there, I start browsing for coins. They don't have to have the high silver percentage but sometimes I also find some regular older coins I bookmark for later as I think they look nice or may be interesting because of their possible value etc.

Combined shipment

Whenever I find something I like, I hope to find two listings for combined shipment from the same seller so that less costs are added and this time I got lucky. I found a friendly lady from Italy who was selling several San Marino coins and I was drawn to a few. Let's check them out below.

I thought the design box was still in good shape considering it comes from 1975, this collector seemed to take care of her coins well. I saw quite a few of these coins in auction in much less condition for higher prices. I paid just above bullion price, which I read is just below 7,50 euro at Numista. I don't think I did bad on this one to be honest:

I really like this one and I'm considering having a little peek in her other listings now that I have some balance in my wallet again from selling off some second hand items myself.

Two more 1987 coins from San Marino: 50 & 10 Lire (uncirculated)

These two were just the ones that were very cheap and I liked how they looked, I checked if I wasn't overpaying and sealed the deal. They are both from 1987 San Marino, below the obverse and reverse of both coins in the plastic:

Numista info to 1987 10 Lire

You can read there that the final two are made from aluminium while the first one contains silver. Even though it's not .999 but .835 I still like it.

As I mentioned they were just a fun little extra to my other purchase making it worth the shipping a bit more. I'm pleased with the lot:

All three coins together..

All and all, I'm happy with a few more editions to my diverse collection and some old junk was sold and traded in for some coinage. This is what I do so far with my earnings there.. hunt for silver stuff and wait until I have enough to purchase something. Selling is quite slow there but it's ok, it gives me a little extra silver / coin hunting pleasure without feeling it in my budget.

Old junk is sold to buy these coins, it's a good idea, I'm saving money to buy my first coins, they will be silver, and then we'll see.
