This is a lovely story, @lara-bee. Aremu was very fortunate! He did all the right things to prove his love for the warlord's daughter and win his favor, but it could so easily have gone a different way. He stood his ground and won the Warloard's heart. Things couldn't have gone the other way too but he was lucky.
