Look in the Mirror ~ You are PERFECT

Hello Hello to all the music lovers of Hive

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it is #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

I love the 80s and I know this is week 88 of ttt and so yesterday I was playing sounds from 1988 hehe, let's see what you think!

First of all ...

Let's get stuck right in...

The formalities

If you wish to participate in Three Tune Tuesday then I defer you to the simple jist on how to do it from @ablaze ...

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

This week is week 88 of ttt and if you wish to participate then follow the rules laid out by @ablaze in his post from last week Ren for Three Tune Tuesday Week 87

Do Go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the five sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this world of ours!

Formalities over, let's get back to 1988!

There are so many bands and musicians to choose from, narrowing that down to 3 let alone only choosing three tunes is proving mightily hard!

I think you will see that these 3 tunes I have chosen are pretty diverse, and that shows my music likes, from one extreme to another!

Tune 1 Yello - The Race

Over the years I had done thousands of miles of driving, and this was a tune I played many many times, if you are ever wanting a wake you song when driving, then stick on The Race from Yello!

Tune 2 Eddy Grant - Gimme Hope Jo’anna

Eddy Grant is such a talented and underrated singer. This is a banger of an upbeat song, that many of us here missed the message about apartheid in here.

Like I said I am struggling to limit myself to less than 10 🤣🤣🤣

So enough with the men, let's pick a lady or three!

Tune 3 Belinda Carlisle - Heaven Is a Place on Earth

Belinda Carlisle is one of my favourite singers and Heaven Is a Place on Earth was one of her greatest songs so this is a must!

BONUS Tune 1 Kylie Minogue - I Should Be So Lucky

Ah Kylie, now here is some weekly ttt earworm material!
Who would guess that the wee girl who appeared on the Aussie soap opera Neighbours would go onto become such a global sensation!

And aren't we all so lucky for finding HIVE!

I told you that this was fluffing hard.

Yeah I wrote the title when I twigged that this song was from 1988.

One of my favourite pep talks for people who are feeling a wee bit down, is to tell them to go look at a mirror. Now point at that person and tell them how Awesome they are! Of course we can replace Awesome with Perfect, because we are ALL PERFECT in our OWN little WAY

BONUS Tune 2 Fairground Attraction - Perfect

The lead singer Eddi Reader I think has a nigh on Perfect voice and of course she is Scottish so say no more!

image.png

I hope that you enjoyed these 1988 inspired tunes

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

My favorite is definitely Joanna!!! So upbeat... So me!!! But Race is also great... LMAO. I was laughing so much. And that was a video of disaster!!! So many tumbling cars. Question, why was the lady running?

I'm also hard-pressed to choose. I love all of these - except Yello. Let me explain, I did not know Yello until now, and now I also love that tune and especially the brass!

If I did have to choose, it would be ... Perfect !!!

Ah yes the brass is awesome, and I am sucker for brass, one reason I love ska so much!

Yeah I think Perfect wins the day :)

Ah, yes. Madness and Joe Jackson, particularly. It's my dad's big band and jazz influence...

My dad had a Belinda Carlisle album on vinyl when I was growing up. It was one of my favorites (for a number of reasons!). I didn't know Eddy Grant did anything beyond Electric Avenue!

Great selection Ed. Eddy Grant is for sure totally underrated, he had a few classics if I remember. The Fairground Attraction - Perfect song is one that is not forgettable. !ALIVE

Yello! OMG, Yello! Yes to Yello! 😂 They are hysterical! Oh yeah.

I remember Eddy Grant's Electric Avenue. That was a popular song in Calgary at the time, in large part because there was a strip just outside downtown that was already called "Electric Avenue" by the locals.

Once again I realize I'm a child of the 80's :-) I knew all five songs! Lots of radio time for me back then.

!Luv the last one most. Got such a great swing to it. Just added it to my work playlist :-)

Thank you and have a nice day.

I simply love Yello - The Race -- the song, the video, the whole package is pure gold, and was a favourite discovery on Three Tune Tuesday, 1988 was 35 years ago man! How nuts is that!!! It's almost like we are getting older! Haha, really enjoyed the tunes this week, a great trip down memory lane.

I know the 80's were so long ago, and it is funny I have been listening to an 80's radio station for the last few days, and it feels like yesterday!
Yello and The Race ... you nailed it, pure gold indeed!
