Hello Hello to all music-loving Hivians
It is Tuesday and that of course means it is #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes!
(For those of you Talk Time with Tengo fans, we are on a break till after the summer)
I came back from holiday yesterday so am very much in the Holiday mood still, so the theme will of course be Holiday!!

I was on holiday in the Orkney Islands which are fluffing miles away, the shots are all from there.

Not heard much of Madonna for years and here she is singing live in 1984.
My god next year will be 40 years since 1984, how time flies!
Green Day - Holiday
Green Day are a great band and I should really do a ttt dedicated to them, they are also one of Mrs T's favourite bands.
Nazareth - Holiday
I have to round out the ttt post with a local band from the Kingdomof Fife.
Hard to think that Nazareth were an iconic heavy metal band when you listen to that Holiday song from 1980!
I learnt python on a course with a guy from a later Nazareth lineup!

Oh yeah, it's not been a summer if I haven't heard it!
That's probably one of my favorite Greenday songs. I saw them many years ago and they put on a fantastic show. I used to live in the city where Madonna grew up, so I have a definite connection to her. I've always enjoyed her music even when everyone else had written her off. Her newer stuff though... she kind of got weird. Too many drugs I guess. Nazareth... Classic. Nice picks. I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday!
Yeah Green Day are a cool band. I quite like the early stuff of Madonna, I must admit I like a lot of early stuff from musicians, often they get popular and stop doing what made them popular! Pretty cool she was from where you used to live.

I would have to agree with you there. The early stuff is definitely better. I lost interest after about Ray of Light. That was my tipping point I think.

Omg you listen to Green Day? They're actually my favorite pop punk band and you should check more of their songs such as 21 guns, boulevard of broken dreams and wake me up when september ends.
Yeah I quite like Green Day but not sure they are a pop punk band to me, I was brought up with real punk or original punk I guess.
I play them on ALexa quite often so do know 21 guns, boulevard of broken dreams and wake me up when september ends.

I liked them too but I'd agree with pop punk as in popular and mainstream. They were definitely less sharp on the ear for people to listen to.

SBC is extremely quiet and Hive is also quiet even though, to be honest, I haven't been much online in the last few days. After Rorro left, we have been busy, have had some power outages, we had a broken pipe and I still need to have the plumber for major work to be done. So I've been ... 😹

Great minds thinking alike with us both having Green Day tunes this week! Madonna was very "in" back in the 80s and 90s. She had some impressive videos back when I was a college coed & watched MTV ("Material Girl," "Poppa Don't Preach," and "Crazy for You" come to mind). And Nazareth? They are in a class of their own! 🎸🎶🥁
