The McDonald's Happy Meal has been a sought-after item of kids like me back in the 90s. Eating in fast-food restos was considered a luxury for us back then as they were usually found in malls and we needed to travel to get there. It's very different from today where stores like Jollibee and McDonald's are within walking distance from our house.

And Happy Meals were a big deal for us back then. We considered it somewhat of a premium toy as they were usually licensed IPs like Godzilla, Snoopy, 101 Dalmatians, etc. But now, I now know what they truly are, pieces of plastic that will eventually be stepped on or thrown away.

But of course, I also want my kids to experience the joy of receiving Happy Meals so I buy them from time to time. The most recent one we bought was Pet Simulator-themed.

I'm a cool dad, so of course I know what Pet Simulator is. It's a game server from the popular mobile app, Roblox. I also play Roblox with my eldest sometimes so I'm in the loop of what's hot with the kids these days.

☝️ So these two pieces of plastic apparently cost ~100 pesos. That's on top of the actual meal. I hope they're played long enough to somehow justify the overprice. 😄

☝️I'm guessing this is a cat or a tiger. There's also a sheep and maybe a crocodile?

☝️They also come with stickers to customize your pets. It reminds me of those paper doll toys that were also popular in the 90s.

☝️And I guess it's well worth it if I see my kid enjoying his toy. It's called a Happy Meal after all.
