Newbie Task 4: Tags, Tokens, and Hive engine transactions.

Honestly, being a part of this initiative is a huge blessing to me because if I was navigating the platform myself, I most likely wouldn’t have reached this level in my learning process. One more thing is, every week has a level of complexity broken down by our amazing tutors and giving us tasks to test how far we’ve learnt. Even though this week’s tasks were somehow complex, the notes and the efforts of the newbies initiatives team with a little bit of extra studying and careful practice, I learnt a new thing, and you’ll surely be interested in learning too.

So, this week, we will talk about tags, tribe tokens, and carry out a little transaction on Hive engine.

What do you understand by tribe token and give two examples each?

Tribes on Hive are basically communities, so, tribe tokens are tokens created by some of these communities to reward their members and any other person that made a quality use of their communities. Some communities reward users with their Tribe tokens when they engage in their communities, publish posts through their front ends or use their tags.

Examples of tribe tokens include:
NEOXAG from Neoxian City, and LEO from Leofinance.

What is the difference between tags and tribe token?

Tags, also known as topics, are hashtags related to the content being published while tokens are rewards that can be earned from use of some tags. Just like you use hashtags on your web2 platforms, that’s the same thing tags mean.

Follow through the material for buying and selling with Hive Engine, and successfully place a buy and sell order of LEO tokens or any Hive-engine token of your choice. showing all steps taken with screenshot.

To successfully conduct a ‘buy’ or ‘sell’ transaction on Hive engine, the hive keychain app will be needed. The procedure to make transactions on the keychain is described below with screenshots.

Step 1: Log in to the hive keychain on your phone and locate the swap option at the base. I tried to beeswap, but it wasn’t cooperating, so I swapped in the keychain and then continued to hive-engine.com to continue with my transaction.

Step 2: Locate the browser in the keychain and log in to Hive engine. select market and scroll down to search for the coin you want to buy. In this case, I bought NEOXAG token.

Step 3: study the market, and in the empty space, indicate the price and the quantity of the tokens you want to buy. Automatically, the total price will be calculated.

Step 4: Complete the Buy order.

To sell a token, (in this case, I sold LEO token)
Step 1: return to hive-engine once again and scroll down

Step 2: Locate the sell option and fill the form indicating the price and quantity of the tokens you intend to sell.

Step 3: then, sell. And You are done.

Please note that it is important to study the market prices before you execute a buy or sell order. You want to make sure you buy at a lower price and sell at a higher price as the businessman that you are. Lol.
