MY BITTER EXPERIENCE AS AN INVITED WEDDING GUEST

(Edited)

As an introvert and a shy type I don't like going out, like going to events such as weddings, birthday party etc. I just prefer staying indoor, I only go to functions on rare occasions maybe when I'm very much involved and there's no how I can turn down the request.

There was a particular wedding I attended which I can never forget in my entire life. A childhood friend of mine invited me to her wedding two years ago. Believe me I tried all my best to skip the wedding, but all my plans did not work, meaning I just have to attend.

So on the day of the wedding, unfortunately I couldn't eat from home before leaving for the wedding because I was running late and I had like to catch up with the church wedding, so I had this intention that atleast I'm going for a wedding and definitely I would eat when I get to reception.

After the church wedding, we head to the reception venue and then took some pictures with the newly wedded couple before the program Kickstart.
I was enjoying myself at the wedding not until they start sharing food, okay we were up to eight on a round table, so as the caterers were serving the food, they brought two plate to our table and that was all, the next thing we heard was that food has finished. It was as if I wasn't hearing well at first, I needed to ask them again, and then they repeat the same thing.

At this point I was already getting angry on the inside, the fact that I couldn't eat from home and having the hope that I'll find something to eat on getting to the wedding but end up being disappointed. After few minutes, we heard again that there's still a little portion of rice that was reserved but there's no meat. What! why will I go to a party and be eating without meat, some people ate it like that anyway but I couldn't.

The sad part was that my friend (the bride) saw me afterwards and asked if I had eaten, the shy me said yes because I don't want her to start running helter skelter looking for how I'll get food, or even feel bad that I couldn't get food at her wedding.
I had to go home with an empty stomach that faithful day. It was the only wedding I attended that I wasn't served despite being invited by the bride herself.

When I got home, I couldn't tell anyone what happened because I was so sure they will make jest of me, I just have to pretend like everything is fine lols but right inside me I know I'm pained.
Maybe next time I'll be invited to a wedding or party, I'll have to tell the person inviting me to reserve my food lols, in other to avoid stories that touch.

THANKS FOR READING.

Omooo, you would have said something to the bride. In these kinds of occasions I'm sure they usually reserve a cooler of food for the bride and family. Na you just dull shaa. But imagine going to your own friend's wedding and not seeing food to eat. I will be so pissed off. And my hunger may just make me leave early to look for food then I might just go home from there.

Chaii, sorry😅😅 But don't be sad, there'll be more weddings to come in the future.

Lol it happens sometimes.
I've seen it on a certain occasion where they weren't expecting so much turnout because they invited few people, unfortunately many people heard from friends of from friends and everyone turned up.
